Important event information

If you're planning on visiting the Easter Show on the weekends patrons are strongly encouraged to catch public transport as the precinct will be very busy with multiple events taking place at neighbouring venues. If you have to drive, you will need to have pre-booked parking, car parks reach full early in the morning on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Weekdays - Friday 23, Monday 26 to Thursday 29 March & Tuesday 3 April

Sydney Trains services:

  • Express services between Central and Olympic Park will run every 20 minutes from 07:59 until 11:30, then every 30 minutes until 23:00, stopping at Redfern and Strathfield.
  • You can also catch a train to Lidcombe Station then head to the Platform Zero for a direct service to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes from 05:30 until midnight.

NSW TrainLink:

  • Blue Mountains Line: trains will make an additional stop at Lidcombe between 09:25 and 15:00 (services towards the City) and between 19:00 and 01:00 (services away from the City).

Weekend - Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 March

Sydney Trains:

  • Express trains from will run to Olympic Park from
    • Central every 15 minutes from 09:00 until midnight, stopping at Redfern and Strathfield.
    • Blacktown every 30 minutes from 14:00 until 22:00, stopping at Seven Hills, Westmead, Parramatta, Granville and Lidcombe.
  • Lidcombe shuttle services to Olympic Park will run every 10 minutes from 05:30 until midnight.

NSW TrainLink:

  • Blue Mountains Line: services between 06:30 and 22:30 will make an additional stop at Lidcombe.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle services to Wyong (leaving Strathfield at 18:59 and 19:59) will extend to Morisset.
  • Southern Highlands Line: an additional service will leave Campbelltown at 23:55, stopping all stations to Moss Vale

Trackwork

From 02:00 Saturday 24 March until 02:00 Monday 26 March trackwork is affecting the following lines that may impact your travel to and from the Show:

  • T1 Northern Line: buses replace trains between Epping and Chatswood via Macquarie University.
  • T5 Cumberland Line and T1 Western Line: Buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown.
  • South Coast Line: buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong

Easter long weekend – Friday 30 March to Monday 2 April

Sydney Trains:

  • Express trains from will run to Olympic Park from
    • Central every 10 minutes from 09:00 until 14:00, then every 8 minutes until midnight, stopping at Redfern and Strathfield.
    • Blacktown every 10 minutes from 09:00 until midnight, stopping at Seven Hills, Westmead, Parramatta, Granville, Auburn and Lidcombe.
  • Lidcombe shuttle services to Olympic Park will run every 10 minutes from 05:30 until 14:00. Shuttle services will then be extended to run between Penrith / Schofields and Olympic Park every 30 minutes between 14:00 and midnight.

NSW TrainLink:

  • Blue Mountains Line:
    • The 17:24 service to Mount Victoria will extend to Lithgow.
    • Services to and from Central between 08:00 and 22:30 will make an additional stop at Lidcombe.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line:
    • An additional service will leave Newcastle Interchange at 7:07, stopping at Broadmeadow, Cardiff, Fassifern, Morisset, Wyong, Tuggerah, Gosford, Woy Woy, Hornsby then Olympic Park.
    • An additional service will leave Wyong at 08:23, stopping all stations to Berowra, Hornsby and Olympic Park.
    • Services to Gosford leaving Central at 18:46 and 19:46 (leaving Strathfield at 18:59 and 19:59) will extend to Wyong.
  • Southern Highlands Line: an additional service will leave Campbelltown at 23:55, stopping all stations to Moss Vale

Trackwork

  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Bondi Junction and Central.

Sydney Olympic Park Major Event buses will run on all nine routes each day during the 12-day Show to get you there and back home again. Use the Major Event Buses Interactive Map to find your route and stop.

Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses services start running each day between 07:00 and 07:30, depending on the route. Services run every 15 to 25 minutes and more frequently during peak times. Buses begin arriving into the precinct from around 08:45 each morning until 17:30 in the evening.

Return services start running from Olympic Park from around 12:45, with the last bus on each route leaving the precinct at 23:00 each night of the Show.

Buses drop off and pick up from Australia Ave in the precinct.

Note: scheduled wheelchair accessible buses will travel on each route.

Sydney Buses services will run to regular timetable during the Easter Show and a changed timetable over the Easter Long Weekend. 

The following Sydney Buses services run to Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park.
  • Route 526 runs from the Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf to Olympic Park.
  • Route X25 runs regularly to Sydney Olympic Park from Strathfield Station during the afternoon peak period on weekdays.

Some buses heading to and from Olympic Park will be diverted and use temporary stops due to road closures in place for the Easter Show.

 

The closest wharf to the precinct is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf which is around a 40 minute walk (3.6km). There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue. Sydney Ferries services will run to a regular timetable but are very popular and may reach capacity especially on weekends, public holidays and busy event nights. 

Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip ahead and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

Due to low tide some ferry services to and from Parramatta wharf may be replaced by buses. See the low tide replacement bus calendar for affected services.

Light rail services run between Central Station and Dulwich Hill with stops at popular CBD and Inner West destinations. Change at Central for a shuttle bus direct to Moore Park. For maps and service frequencies see Light rail service information.

Taxis are available on Herb Elliott Ave (near Australia Ave) until 17:00 and then on Murray Rose Ave (near the Coca-Cola Carnival gate) from 17:00 until 23:00. For details of taxi networks servicing the Sydney area, visit NSW Taxi Council.

Parking will be very limited in Olympic Park over the Easter Long Weekend as a number of coinciding events being held in the precinct including the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Event patrons will need to pre-book parking or consider the public transport options instead. Remember, ShowLink tickets include return travel on public transport, so leave the car at home and take advantage of the extra trains and buses

If you have to drive, visit Sydney Olympic Park Prebook to pre-book parking until 23:59 the night before. If you haven't booked, follow the directions given on the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to the best available casual parking but keep in mind these may be full early in the day. Train station parking

Many Sydney Trains stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching one of the extra trains to Sydney Olympic Park.

Stations with large car parks on the T1 Western Line that will run direct services to Olympic Park include Seven Hills (1,315 spaces), Blacktown (300), Rooty Hill (375), St Marys (300) and Penrith (370).

Stations with large car parks that require one interchange include:

  • T1 North Shore & Northern Line: Gordon (550 spaces), Thornleigh (370), Concord West (300).
  • T2 Airport, Inner West & South Line: Padstow (450 spaces), Revesby (450), Fairfield (280), Warwick Farm (650), Glenfield (600), Holsworthy (1,000), Macarthur (433), Campbelltown (1,034), Leumeah (1,193).
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland (1,700 spaces), Kogarah (535).

Heavy traffic is expected on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park over the Easter Long Weekend. Allow extra travel time on roads including the M4 Mwy, Homebush Bay Dr, Concord Rd, Lane Cove Rd and Epping Rd approaching the precinct. Anyone considering driving to Olympic Park should arrive early and will need to have pre-booked parking.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority will close some local roads to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during events. Parking

There are approximately 400 accessible car spaces at Sydney Olympic Park. Make sure you display a valid accessible permit when parking in an accessible space on the day.
