Hello Koalas Festival
Port Macquarie, NSW
Hello Koalas Festival is an annual event over the June long weekend, building on the success of the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail in Port Macquarie. Hello Koalas Festival is great fun for all ages groups while also focusing attention on the importance of caring for koalas, which sadly these days are a threatened species in many parts of NSW. Port Macquarie has the largest koala population on the east coast of Australia and we want that to continue! Port Macquarie's famed Koala Hospital is a key festival partner along with National Parks' Sea Acres Rainforest Centre which offers an innovative boardwalk attraction "Save our Koalas". See environmentally themed, hand painted Hello Koalas sculptures nestling along the rainforest walk. "Paint your own Koalas" at the Festival's popular art making workshops at Sea Acres and take home your masterpiece for the family mantlepiece. Enjoy Hello Koalas High Teas at Rydges Port Macquarie with yummy Koala Cookies and Cupcakes and special Hello Koalas teas, locally made by World Par TEA. And win great prizes at the Hello Koalas Festival Parade with lots of games organised by the crew from National Parks.
