B-Line and bus service changes for Northern Beaches

The new B-Line bus service will start running later this year, providing more frequent and reliable bus services between the Northern Beaches and City via the Lower North Shore.

The B-Line route will be extended from Mona Vale to Newport and the existing local bus network on the Northern Beaches will change to improve services and provide connectivity to the B-Line.

A new fleet of double-decker buses run:

  • every ten minutes, all day, between Newport and the city
  • every five minutes, during peak times in the peak direction, between Mona Vale and the city

The new Northern Beaches service plan, supporting the new B-Line service, also introduce two key new bus routes to the region:

  • New route 199 will run between Palm Beach, Avalon and Manly to connect with B-Line services between Newport and Brookvale.
  • New route E54 will run between Mona Vale and Milsons Point via North Sydney, providing frequent services during weekday peak periods.

Timetables for these new routes will become available later this year before the launch of the B-Line service.
