On Demand public transport services for Lake Macquarie

Lake Macquarie residents will have more choice when a new on demand service trial starts in January 2018.

The new service will run during weekdays and on weekends through the areas of Dudley, Mount Hutton and Warners Bay.

You will be able to book an on demand service over the phone, via an app or in person at the Newcastle Transport Hub. You can pre-pay by credit card or pay cash to the driver.

An on demand bus will pick you up near your home or a convenient nearby location, and take you to where you want to go within the on-demand area.

There will be an introductory fare of $3 per one-way trip for the duration of the trial. Concession fares will apply.

On demand services will run in addition to regular timetabled services.

The trial is expected to run for 12 months. If successful, the service will be rolled out across a larger area.
