Newcastle CBD bus changes

From the end of May and through June, There will be a number of changes to bus services travelling in the Newcastle CBD to allow for light rail construction at the intersection of Scott and Watt Streets and Stewart Avenue.

You should plan your trip, check travel alerts and allow for some extra time when travelling during this period.

Look out for Newcastle Transport Customer Service Officers who will be out and about to provide additional assistance.

Changes to 110 Shuttle Service from Monday 21 May to Thursday 31 May

The 110 shuttle service will pick up and drop off customers at the Newcastle Interchange.

The 110 shuttle will then travel along King Street and loop back via Bolton Street dropping off passengers on Bolton Street and picking up on King Street.

Changes to 110 shuttle service between Friday 1 June to Monday 18 June

The 110 shuttle service will pick up on Hunter Street, east of Stewart Avenue and drop off customers on Hunter Street opposite Cooper Street, City West.

From Thursday 7 June, the 110 shuttle service will continue to Customs House at Watt Street.

Changes to routes 11, 13, 14 between Monday 21 May to Wednesday 6 June

From Monday 21 May, routes 11, 13 and 14 will be rerouted to pick up customers from King Street at Bolton Street bus stop and drop off passengers on Bolton Street.

Changes to route 21 between Monday 21 May to Wednesday 6 June

From Monday 21 May the route 21 travels along Church Street to The Esplanade, Scott Street, Telford Street, Stevenson Place and Parnell Place, instead of Watt Street.

Changes to school routes 550, 570, 719, 732, 815 and 818 between Monday 21 May to Wednesday 6 June

From Monday 21 May school routes 550, 570, 732, 815 and 818 will be rerouted to pick up students from King Street at Bolton Street bus stop and drop off passengers on Bolton Street.

From Monday 21 May the school route 719 will continue to pick up and drop off students at Queens Wharf, travelling along Wharf Road, Nobbys Road to King Street, where it will continue on the regular route.

Changes to route 22 between Friday 1 June and Monday 18 June

​​From 1 June the route 22 will pick up customers at Hunter Street at Cooper Street and drop off customers at Hunter Street opposite Cooper Street.

 

Changes to routes 23, 26 and 28 between Friday 1 June and Monday 18 June

From 1 June, routes 23, 26 and 28 will be rerouted to drop off at a temporary bus stop Hunter Street, east of Stewart Avenue and pick up customers on Hunter Street opposite Cooper Street, City West.

 

Changes to route 24 between Friday 1 June and Monday 18 June

From 1 June the route 24 will be rerouted along Albert Street and Maitland Road, picking up and dropping off customers at Hunter Street at Cooper Street and Hunter Street opposite Cooper Street.

Changes to school routes 710 and 719 between Friday 1 June to Monday 18 June

From 1 June, the school route 710 will commence from the Hannell Street at Dickson Street bus stop, before continuing on its regular route.

From Monday 21 May the school route 719 will continue to pick up and drop off students at Queens Wharf, travelling along Wharf Road, Nobbys Road to King Street, where it will continue on the regular route.
