Transport for NSW School Incentive Competition

  1. These terms apply. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these terms and conditions. If there is any conflict between these terms and conditions and any other published materials, these terms and conditions will prevail. Entry into this competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. Entries must comply with these terms and conditions to be valid. This competition is governed by the laws of New South Wales.
  2. Promoter. The promoter of this competition is Transport for NSW, ABN 18 804 239 602, 18 Lee Street, Chippendale NSW 2008 (Promoter).
  3. Competition period. This competition runs from 6.30am (AEST) Monday, 15 October 2018 to 7:00pm (AEST) Friday 16 November 2018 (Competition Period). Entries received outside this time period will not be considered.
  4. Eligibility. Entry is only open to entrants who:
    1. are a participating school.
  5. How to Enter.
    1. Entry into this Competition is free.
    2. To enter this competition, students from participating schools must tap on and tap off their School Opal cards (Completed Trip) on public transport during their journeys to and from school during the Competition Period.
    3. Each Completed Trip by students of participating schools is added to the total Completed Trips for each relevant participating school. 
  6. Judging. The Prize Winner will be the participating school with the biggest improvement, by means of percentage increase, in Completed Trips by students of the participating school. The biggest improvements in Completed Trips is calculated as the highest percentage increase of the tap on and tap off data for students from the participating school in the Competition Period against the tap on and tap off data for students from the participating school in the period Tuesday, 24 July 2018 to Friday, 24 August 2018.
  7. Prize. There is one prize only. The Prize is a $1,000.00 e-Voucher for https://www.teaching.com.au. The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.  The Promoter reserves the right to alter the Prize in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  8. Notification. The Prize will be drawn on Wednesday 28 November 2018 at TfNSW. The winner will be notified by the Promoter within two days after the draw and the prize handed over within seven days after the draw.
  9. Ancillary or incidental costs. Any ancillary or incidental costs (including, without limitation, any costs incurred in receiving, collecting or using the Prize) relating to this competition or the Prize are the responsibility of the entrant and/or the Prize Winner.
  10. Publicity. The Promoter may ask for the Prize Winner’s consent or the consent of the Prize Winner’s representative to use the Prize Winner’s name and image for an unlimited period without remuneration for the Promoter’s purpose of promoting similar activities and competitions in the future.  The Prize Winner consents to the Promoter taking and using the Prize Winner’s Entry and any photographs, video and sound recordings (including any likeliness or image) of the Prize Winner in connection with the competition (including when receiving the or enjoying the Prizes) (collectively the “Material”) and to the Promoter publishing and distributing the Material (in whole or part) and their name on the Promoters website, on television, social media, in print and electronic mainstream media, and other associate promotional materials without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the Prize Winner. The Prize Winner acknowledges that the Material will be kept by the Promoter for an indefinite period of time and that they do not have any rights in the Material. A separate consent form will be provided.
  11. Privacy Notice.  Any personal information collected from entrants as part of this competition (Personal Information) will be dealt with by the Promoter in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW).   12. Dispute. Any disputes concerning the conduct of the competition or the claiming of the Prize are to be resolved with the Promoter via email to publictransportmarketing@transport.nsw.gov.au
