About On Demand public transport

On Demand provides a flexible alternative transport service, which allows you to book a vehicle to pick you up from home or a nearby convenient location and take you to a local transport hub, shopping centre, business park or hospital.

The new services are part of a NSW Government trial of On Demand public transport as a more flexible approach to delivering services when and where people need them, and to improve connectivity to the existing public transport network.

Bookings and fares

Depending on the operator, you may be able to book a service online, through an app or over the phone to pick you up at a time and place that suits you.

Fares for each service vary, but in most cases fares are comparable to an Adult Opal single trip bus ticket.

Some services allow you to pay your fare by credit card, bank transfer, PayPal and in some cases cash. You will not be able to pay with your Opal card.


During the trial period only some operators will operate wheelchair accessible vehicles. If you require accessible services, please contact the operator for more information.
