Transport Park&Ride is designed to free-up more spaces at commuter car parks for those who want to travel on public transport.

Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip by tapping on and tapping off using an accepted:

  1. Opal card or
  2. credit/debit/Opal card linked to a Transport Connect account

Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.

To qualify for free Park&Ride parking, you must:

  • Park your vehicle in a dedicated Park&Ride car park.
  • Complete a trip on public transport by tapping on and tapping off with the same accepted card.
  • Exit the car park within 18 hours of entering.

Complete a trip on public transport and then simply tap out as you exit the car park.

b. Using a credit/debit card

  1. If you’re using your credit/debit card for the first time to travel, you’ll need to complete a trip on public transport with the physical card to validate it.
  2. Once your card has been validated, register for a Transport Connect account at transportnsw.info/account
    1. Select 'Park&Ride' under 'My services'.
    2. Follow the prompts to register your card and vehicle's number plate. You can also link your Opal card in this step.
  3. Enter the car park and enjoy free parking.

Once you're set up there's no need to tap out when you leave the car park and you'll have all your parking history available online.
