40,000 participants will take to the streets in the iconic Sydney Marathon 42km course on Sunday 30 August. Significant city-wide road closures, clearways and transport changes will be in place. Motorists are urged to be aware of major road closures and detours, while bus and light rail passengers should be aware of disruptions to services. Participants and spectators cheering on loved ones should only use public transport, with extra services running throughout the day. Travel on transport is covered for registered participants.
