Regional bus services

Bus services run throughout NSW, connecting regional centres and towns.

  • Trip planning: Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip anywhere within NSW.
  • Routes and timetables: Find route maps and download timetables on the Routes and timetables page.
  • School buses: Contact your local operator for school bus service information. Find a transport operator.
  • Bus stops: Most areas have marked bus stops. In rural areas, some sections operate on a “hail and ride” basis, where you can wave to stop the bus.

Regional bus fares

There are 10 standard fare bands in regional NSW. Fares vary depending on the distance travelled.

  • Short trips (1 - 2 sections): Maximum adult fare is $2.30.
  • Longer trips (over 200 kilometres): Maximum adult fare is $25.00.
  • Daily Adult Ticket: Allows unlimited travel in selected sections for one day. Fares start at $5.00 for short trips, making them a cost-effective option if you plan to take multiple trips within the same day.

  • Bus operators may offer fares below these limits.
  • Eligible concession holders will pay half the adult fare.
  • For specific fare details, contact your operator.
