Get an Opal card

Opal is the ticketing system used on public transport in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, the Hunter and the Illawarra.

You can travel on the Opal network with an Opal card, or, Adult and concession fare paying passengers can tap on and tap off with a contactless credit or debit card. To link concession fares to your credit or debit card, you must create a Transport Connect account and link your entitlement before you travel.  Find out more

You can get an Opal card in person or online. Add value before you travel and tap on and off to pay your fare.
