TAFE students, apprentices and trainees eligible for Concession fares can now tap on and tap off public transport using your phone, watch or credit or debit card – it's faster, easier and you get the exact same fares and benefits as an Opal card.

To receive your Concession fare and benefits when using a credit or debit card, phone or smartwatch, you must link your concession entitlement through Transport Connect. If you switch between different cards or devices, you may be charged the full adult fare.
First, verify your concession
Go to Transport Connect and follow the prompts to link your concession and your credit or debit card.
Make sure you use the same one each time so your fares are calculated correctly.
You’ll still need to carry your valid proof of concession entitlement when travelling.
