Child $1 Fare
Travel anywhere on NSW TrainLink with $1 fares for children (aged 4 - 15) and eligible students. Conditions apply.

Family Fare
Travel affordably with NSW TrainLink’s Family Fare. Pay the applicable Child half full fare for your first two kids, and any extra children travel for free. Conditions apply.

How to book
If travelling with small children, book over the phone on 13 22 32 (+61 2 3814 0210 if calling from overseas) or through an NSW TrainLink sales agents. This helps ensure your group is seated together.
For online bookings, select the checkbox for ‘All passengers are from the same family/household’. The booking system will calculate the fare based on the number of Adult and Child seats, giving you the lowest overall cost.

Does your child need to travel alone?
- Children under the age of 12 cannot travel alone and must be accompanied by an adult (aged 16 years or older).
- Children aged 12 to 15 years may travel alone on an Unaccompanied Minor ticket. These tickets are not permitted on overnight services, sleeper cabins or day sitter cabins.
- A parent or guardian aged 18 years or over must make the booking for an unaccompanied minor and provide contact details for the supervising adult at departure and the nominated parent/guardian responsible for collecting the child at the scheduled arrival time.
