Where you can travel with the pass

A NSW TrainLink Discovery Pass, gives you:

  • Unlimited booked travel to 365+ destinations on the NSW TrainLink Regional train and coach network.
  • Flexible pass options: 14 days, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months.

Before you buy

  • Please read the terms and conditions.
  • A NSW TrainLink Discovery Pass is non-refundable and it cannot be transferred to another person.

Use your Discovery Pass to reach destinations across NSW and beyond, including:

  • NSW regional destinations, including Broken Hill, Dubbo, and Tamworth.
  • Interstate locations like Melbourne, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.

Note: The pass is not valid on NSW TrainLink Intercity or Sydney Trains services unless connecting to a NSW TrainLink regional service as part of your journey.

  3. Enter your Discovery Pass ID and family name.

Upgrades and refunds

  • Passengers will be able to upgrade to First Class on individual journeys at a special discounted rate of 20 per cent off the full ‘change of class’ fare.
  • Travel must start and finish within the pass's validity period.
  • If you have an overnight trip, it can extend into the day after the final validity date.
  • The pass must be validated within 6 months of purchase and all travel completed before it expires.
  • A Discovery Pass will commence its validity start date on the date of travel of the first booking made using the Discovery Pass. Once a Discovery Pass validity start date has been set, it cannot be changed.
  • The pass is non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
  • If train services are replaced by road coaches, no refund is given.
  • Travel on Sydney Trains or Intercity services is only permitted when travelling in conjunction with a connecting NSW TrainLink Regional service.

Validate your pass

Your pass must be validated within 6 months of purchase. Your pass' validity start date commences on the date of travel of your first booked trip.

You must book each trip before you travel. All trips must be booked and taken before the pass expires.
