About the Discovery Pass
A NSW TrainLink Discovery Pass, gives you:
- Unlimited booked travel to 365+ destinations on the NSW TrainLink Regional train and coach network.
- Flexible pass options: 14 days or 1 month.
- Travel classes to suit your style: Economy or First Class (Premium).

- A NSW TrainLink Discovery Pass is non-refundable and it cannot be transferred to another person.
Where you can travel with the pass
Use your Discovery Pass to reach destinations across NSW and beyond, including:
- NSW regional destinations, including Broken Hill, Dubbo, and Tamworth.
- Interstate locations like Melbourne, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.
Note: The pass is not valid on NSW TrainLink Intercity or Sydney Trains services unless connecting to a NSW TrainLink regional service as part of your journey.

How it works
Choose a pass duration (14 days or 1 month) and travel class (Economy or Premium) that suits your needs.
Buy your pass online or through a sales agent.
Your pass must be validated within 30 days of purchase. Your pass is activated when you book your first trip.
All trips must be booked and taken before the pass expires. You must book each trip before you travel.
Booking your trips
The pass is not a ticket. You must book each trip separately.
Book online
- Search for your departure location, destination, and travel dates.
- Select concession or pass type 'Discovery Pass.'
- Enter your Discovery Pass ID and family name.
- Choose a trip that suits you.

Upgrades and refunds
- Economy pass holders can upgrade to First Class or a sleeping berth by paying the difference.
- Premium pass holders can upgrade to a sleeping berth by paying the applicable upgrade amount.
- Premium pass holders are not entitled to a refund if no First Class seats are available.
Terms and conditions
- Travel must start and finish within the pass's validity period.
- If you have an overnight trip, it can extend into the day after the final validity date.
- The pass must be validated within 30 days of purchase and all travel completed before it expires.
- The pass is non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
- If train services are replaced by road coaches, no refund is given.
- Travel on NSW TrainLink Intercity or Sydney Train services is only permitted when travelling in conjunction with a connecting NSW TrainLink Regional service.
