Opal peak and off-peak fares
Peak times (Monday to Thursday, excluding public holidays).
Get a 30% discount when you travel on Fridays, weekends, public holidays, and outside peak times.
Your fare is calculated from the time when you tap on with your Opal card or contactless card or device.
Remember: There is no off-peak discount when using an Opal single ticket.
Metro and train
- Morning: 6:30am - 10am
- Evening: 3pm - 7pm
Intercity trains
- Morning: 6am - 10am
- Evening: 3pm - 7pm
Note: morning peak travel times can vary for some Intercity stations, depending on where you tap on. Look up your station to check your morning peak time.
