Free travel for eligible WWI Veteran's Widows or recipients of the George Cross/Victoria Cross, including spouses and widow/ers.
If you are the widow of a First World War (WWI) veteran, or Victoria Cross/George Cross recipients, you are eligible to apply for a World War 1 Veteran's Widows free pass.
This pass entitles you and your attendant to free travel on public transport in NSW.
You can also apply for a free travel Opal card for convenience.
To apply for a World War I Veteran's Widow Free Pass, you must be a permanent resident of NSW and either:

To replace your World War I Veteran's Widow Free Pass, download and complete the World War I Veteran's Widows Free Pass application form (PDF, 303.7KB) and submit the form online at transportnsw.info/concessions-application. A replacement fee may apply.
You can apply for the free travel Opal card using the same form.

If you have a World War I Veteran's Widows Free Pass, you are entitled to free travel on public transport in NSW. Your attendant can travel with you for free if your pass is marked "Plus Attendant".
The World War I Veteran's Widows Free Pass is your proof of entitlement, so always carry it with you or you may be fined.
Free travel is generally not available on private ferries, event shuttle buses, charter bus services or Great Southern Rail services. Check with transport operators before travelling.
