School Drive Subsidy Parent portal

The School Drive Subsidy Parent Portal is where you can:

  • track your School Drive Subsidy applications, journeys and payments.
  • add another student
  • update your details or travel requirements

When you first apply for the School Drive Subsidy, you will receive an email with your password to log in to the School Drive Subsidy Parent Portal.

The parent portal provides updates on the status of your application.

Statuses include:

Status Description
Your application is under assessment Your application has been received and is currently with us for assessment. We will notify you of the outcome of your application via email once your assessment has been completed.
Application awaiting your input The status of the application is pending as:
  • Some of the students on the application do not meet the eligibility criteria. Further information has been requested from you; or
  • A PVC subsidy exists and will be terminated.
Your journey is being planned Your application has been received and is provisionally approved. We will notify you of the approved journey details via email once completed.
Your journey is under review Your request for a journey review has been received and is currently under review. We will notify you of the approved journey details via email once completed.
Application complete Your application has been provisionally approved.
Your application has not been approved

Your application has not been approved. Either you have not met the eligibility criteria, or you are receiving a PVC subsidy for at least one other student from the same household.

If the student(s) did not meet the eligibility criteria, you may be able to raise a special condition request or submit a new application.

If you have any students with PVC, you will need to re-apply for School Drive Subsidy including details of all students in your household or choose to remain on PVC.

Application cancelled You have chosen not to complete your application.

Please note: processing times do not affect the application commencement date or payment dates, as payments are made following the end of each semester based on attendance data provided by schools.

Once your application has been approved, the parent portal provides an update on the status of any payments.

Under the payment section of the parent portal:

Status Description
Waiting for attendance Payments cannot be made until schools have provided attendance information to Transport for NSW for all students in your household registered for School Drive Subsidy. Your payment is pending the school providing attendance checks for one or more of your students.
Pending payment calculation Your payment is currently being calculated and reviewed. This could take up to six weeks.
Payment Scheduled Payment has been transferred to your bank account. Please allow up to seven business days. If after that time you have not received your payment, then contact us online via transportnsw.info/concessions-feedback

You can update your address, name, school or bank details.

Select ‘Update personal details’ to amend the following:

  • Spelling corrections for parent/guardian details
  • Email address
  • Postal address
  • Banking details
  • Spelling corrections for student details
  • Students date of birth

Select ‘Change application’ to amend the following:

  • Change of address
  • Change of school
  • Add additional students
  • Remove students

Your username is the email address you used when you first applied for the School Drive Subsidy.

If you forget your password go to the School Drive Subsidy Parent Portal and click on the 'Forgot password' link. A temporary password will be emailed to you.

PARENT PORTAL TERMS OF USE

1. Parent Portal Terms of Use

These terms of use apply to your access and use of the Parent Portal whether through a computer, smart phone, tablet or other device that accesses the internet.

2. Ownership

The Parent Portal is owned and operated by Transport for NSW (TfNSW). A reference to us, we or our, is a reference to TfNSW and, where the context requires, its authorised representatives and agents.

3. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Parent Portal you agree to be bound by these Parent Portal Terms of Use. If you do not agree to be bound, you must not use the Parent Portal.

4. Authorisation

By accessing or using the Parent Portal you warrant that you are the applicant for the School Drive Subsidy.

5. Access and use of Parent Portal

  1. The Parent Portal is only to be accessed and used by you if you are the parent, guardian or a person authorised by the parent or guardian who applied for the School Drive Subsidy ('the Applicant'), and
  2. Must only be used by you to
    1. track the status of the application
    2. view Planned Journeys, request a review of Planned Journeys and/or request additional journeys
    3. submit updates to details including banking details
    4. submit a change application to add or remove students and change schools, household address and journey.
    5. to track payment of the subsidy.

6. Your conduct and certification

In accessing and using the Parent Portal you must not:

  1. violate any applicable laws or access or use the Parent Portal for any unlawful purpose;
  2. distribute viruses, spyware, corrupted files or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of any computer hardware or software;
  3. engage in any other conduct that inhibits any other person from using the Parent Portal.

7. User name and password

You must keep all usernames and passwords confidential. You must not disclose this information to any person, and we are not responsible for any loss suffered as a result of you disclosing any such information to another person. Where you are logged into the Parent Portal using your user name and password, you will be automatically logged out after a period of inactivity to help reduce the risk of anyone else accessing your account. For the same reason, you should log out when you have finished using the Parent Portal.

PRIVACY

8. Privacy legislation

Under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW), you have a right to ask to access and amend the personal information that we collect about you and your use of the Parent Portal, know the purposes for which we collect that information, how such information is used and to whom such information is provided. We will handle personal information that we collect in relation to you in accordance with our Privacy Notice included in the Terms and conditions.

9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Property of TfNSW and third party providers:

The Parent Portal (including layout, all graphic design elements, underlying code and any text, graphics, photographs, images, sounds, video, illustrations, data, files, other information and software) (Content) remains our property or the property of our third party providers and is subject to and protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.

10. Links to third party websites

The Parent Portal may contain links to third party websites and advertisements that may include embedded links. We have not reviewed any of the sites linked on the Parent Portal and are not responsible for the content or accuracy of any other sites linked on the Parent Portal, even where such websites are co-branded by us. The inclusion of any link or advertisement does not imply that we endorse the linked site or the subject matter of the advertisement. We do not accept any liability for the content of such third party websites and you take sole responsibility for your use of such third party websites.

11. No guarantee of protection

While we endeavour to ensure that the Parent Portal is free from viruses and other harmful code, we cannot guarantee this. We therefore recommend that you install and use up-to-date anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall software on your computer.

12. Exclusion of representations and warranties

All express or implied guarantees, warranties, representations or other terms and conditions not contained in these Parent Portal Terms of Use are excluded from these Parent Portal Terms of Use to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Amendments

We may, at any time change any part of these Parent Portal Terms of Use, by updating these Parent Portal Terms of Use. Any such changes will take effect when they are published on the Parent Portal. If we make any such changes that we consider will adversely affect your use of the Parent Portal in a material way, we will take such steps to notify you of those changes as we consider reasonably appropriate (for example, by including a notice on the Parent Portal). If you do not agree to any such changes, you must refrain from using the Parent Portal. By using the Parent Portal after any changes are published, you agree to be bound by the changes.

GENERAL

14. Proper law:

These Parent Portal Terms of Use are governed by the laws of New South Wales and we and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

15. Unenforceability:

If any part of these Terms of Use is held to be unenforceable, the unenforceable part is to be given effect to the fullest extent possible and the remainder will remain in full force and effect.

16. Including:

The words "including", "such as", "for example" and similar expressions are not intended as terms of limitation.
