Register your Opal card

You can create an account and register your Opal card online or through the Opal Travel app.

Your Opal account allows you to manage your card online, so you can:

• Protect your balance and block your card if it has been lost or stolen
• Set an auto top up so you are always ready to travel
• View and download up to 18 months of your travel history and payments
• Link multiple Opal cards to one account to keep track of them all in one place
• Get SMS or email alerts if your balance gets low or when an auto top up has been applied

Opal cards that are ordered online are automatically registered under your name. This includes Adult and Child/Youth Opal cards, or Concession, Gold Senior/Pensioner and free travel Opal cards.

If your Opal card isn't registered, you can still top up online and view recent activities. You just need to enter the 16 digit number and 4 digit security code on the back of your Opal card.

Note: You can only see the last 10 activities for unregistered cards, which includes trips, top ups and reversals.
