How to pay, where to get Opal and top up.
There are a range of options to pay for your travel on public transport, including credit/debit cards, digital wallets, and Opal cards. Simply tap on at the start and tap off at the end of your trip.
Opal cards are smartcard tickets that can be used to pay for travel. If you hold a Concession, Child/Youth or Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card, you will pay reduced fares.
You can pay for your fare by using your credit/debit card with the contactless symbol or a digital wallet, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.
If you don't have an Opal card or contactless payment option, you must purchase an Opal single trip ticket to travel. Opal single tickets are only available for metro, train, ferry and light rail.
