Senior and Pensioner fares are for eligible:
Pensioner Concession Card holders and NSW/ACT Seniors can choose between an Opal card or Contactless Concessions to access their discounted fares.*
Other fare types including interstate seniors and asylum seekers must apply for a Gold Opal Card to access discounted fares.

Reminders:
If you do not have a valid proof of entitlement, you must pay an Adult fare with an Adult Opal card or a contactless credit/debit card, or purchase an Opal single ticket to avoid fines.
Don't forget to tap off or you'll be charged a default fare. Travelling on Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal fares? You'll never pay more than your $2.50 daily cap.

With Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal fares you can travel as much as you want on metro, train, bus, ferry and light rail services within the Opal network. You never pay more than $2.50 a day (weekdays or weekends).
