Get an Opal card

Opal is the smartcard ticketing system used on public transport in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, the Hunter and the Illawarra.

You can also use a contactless payment to pay an Adult fare. But if you qualify for concession fares, you can save money with an Opal card.

You can get an Opal card in person or online. Add value before you travel and tap on and off to pay your fare.
