Important travel advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

Drive with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavier than usual during Friday evening peak, you can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

When catching public transport, plan ahead and allow extra time. Trains run regularly to Penrith on the T1 Western Line which is within walking distance of BlueBet Stadium.

It’s mandatory to wear a face mask when travelling on services in Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong areas from 5pm Thursday 6 May until 12.01am Monday 10 May. You can also check real-time capacity indicators when planning your trip or boarding services. Remember you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling to and from the event on public transport. Register your details via the Opal website or app ahead of time.

Additional measures and staff will be in place around transport hubs and the stadium to safely manage crowds arriving and leaving the game so please be patient, practise physical distancing while in queues and follow the directions of staff on site.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping to connect with train services to Strathfield and change for a T1 Western Line Train to Penrith.

The closest station to Panthers Stadium is Penrith on the T1 Western Line. The stadium is approximately a 10 minute walk from the station. Trains run every 10 to 15 minutes to Penrith.

Trackwork

Weeknight trackwork is taking place on Friday 7 May on the following lines:

  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: From 10pm until 2am the all stations Homebush trains run between Strathfield and the City Circle only. Leppington trains make an extra stop at Homebush.

Busways services the Penrith region with stops within walking distance of Panthers Stadium. The closest bus stop is located at the front of Panthers Penrith Leagues Club on Panthers Place, directly opposite Panthers Stadium, on Mulgoa Rd. Visit their website for details on timetables and maps.

There are also a number of bus stops on Station St near the stadium.

Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay and change for a train service to Central. From Central, trains run regularly to Penrith on the T1 Western Line.

L1 Dulwich Hill light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill. L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and the L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run every 10 to 15 minutes.

Traffic may be heavy on roads in the area as fans travel to and from the stadium so plan to arrive early and allow extra travel time as parking will be in high demand.
