Important Travel Advice

Footy fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk away. Your ticket to the game includes travel on public transport.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and pre-book your parking online to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.

Traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to the match. Consider leaving the car at home and catching public transport to avoid delays. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Match Ticket Entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2024 South Sydney Rabbitohs season home games at Accor Stadium includes travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park on the following transport services. Just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day. 

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.

Tickets to 2024 South Sydney Rabbitohs season home games at Accor Stadium include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Real-time parking availability allows you to see how many vacant car park spaces are available at Transport Park&Ride car parks.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.  

From Sunday 4 August 2024, six new Sydney Metro stations will open, and turn-up-and-go metro services will extend from Chatswood through the Sydney CBD to Sydenham on the M1 Line.  

Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.  

Change at Epping or Central to connect with Sydney Trains services towards Strathfield then Olympic Park. 

Please note that from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trackwork on the T4 Eastern Suburbs Line may affect how you travel. Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place. Change at Gadigal for express buses to Bondi Junction and change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or trains towards Cronulla and Waterfall.

The closest station to Accor Stadium is Olympic Park.  

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.  

To help you get to the match, the following additional trains will run:  

  • Leaving Central at 6.42pm and 7.05pm – stopping at Redfern, Strathfield then Olympic Park. 
  • Leaving Blacktown at 5.34pm – stopping at Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park.  
  • Leaving Schofields at 5.58pm – stopping at Blacktown, Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Thursday 8 August on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:  

  • Metro M1 Line: From 9.50pm to 1.30am, trackwork on the T4 Eastern Suburbs Line may affect how you travel. Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place. Change at Gadigal for express buses to Bondi Junction and change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or trains towards Cronulla and Waterfall.  
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall or Cronulla and North Sydney. Change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or metro services to Martin Place. Change at Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 10pm to 2am, at Cowan and Hawkesbury River, all trains leave from platform 1. 
  • South Coast Line: From 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trains run between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle. Change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or metro services to Martin Place and Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station.

The following regular route buses run to Sydney Olympic Park: 

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington (As of 4 August, this route no longer runs to or from Strathfield, catch 526 buses instead) 
  • Route 526 runs between Burwood and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf. 
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde 

As of Sunday 4 August 2024, some bus routes in North and North West Sydney have changed to support the launch of Sydney Metro from Chatswood to Sydenham. These bus changes aim to improve connectivity to Sydney Metro services and support integration into the broader network. For more details see the Bus changes news page

The closest wharf to Accor Stadium is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park. Services are very popular and may reach capacity, keep this in mind if you're planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

Please note, F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, connect with express trains to Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). From Central, connect with express trains to Olympic Park.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park as footy fans travel to the precinct in the busy evening peak. Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. 

Consider catching public transport or parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park to avoid traffic delays. Match tickets include travel on public transport.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road.

The nearest Taxi Rank is on Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

Sydney Olympic Car Parks

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.

Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing the trip to Olympic Park by train as frequent additional services will run. 

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time. Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout.

Traffic delays are expected after the game as fans leave the precinct.

Train Station Commuter Parking

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks. Consider parking at a station near you and continuing your journey by train towards Olympic Park.

  • T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith.
  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
