Important Travel Advice

With up to 80,000 fans expected to attend the NRL and NRLW Grand Final, ticketholders are urged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid getting caught in traffic delays. Travel on transport is included in event tickets.

Additional trains and buses will run to Olympic Park and the cost of travel already included in your event ticket, making public transport the easiest way to get there. Simply show your ticket to transport staff when boarding.

  • Express and limited-stop trains will run to Olympic Park from Central and Western Line stations from early afternoon, with frequent return services until late. From Olympic Park station, the stadium is a short 10-minute walk away.
  • Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses will run on all nine routes every 5 to 20 minutes between 1.35pm and 6.15pm depending on the route. Last return bus leaves Olympic Park at 11pm.

If you have no other option but to drive, you must have pre-booked parking:

  • Do not drive unless you have pre-booked parking. Pre-book online ahead of time to secure a space. Flat rate $35 parking fees apply.
  • If you have pre-booked parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.
  • Carpool with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time as traffic will be heavy.
  • Be aware that when leaving after the match, traffic will be very heavy as everyone will be leaving at the same time, so expect to allow up to an hour additional travel time exiting car parks.
  • You can also consider parking at a nearby train station commuter carpark and continuing your trip on one of the many extra trains running to Olympic Park, at no extra cost.
  • Allow plenty of extra travel time on the roads and plan your trip before leaving home. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

If you're getting dropped off/picked up or catching rideshare and taxis:

  • Taxi ranks are located on Herb Elliott Ave near Park St.
  • After the match, demand for taxis and rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed by considering catching a train or bus outside of the precinct to connect with your ride faster. Allow plenty of extra travel time on the roads as long delays are expected.

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2024 NRL & NRLW Grand Final on Sunday 6 October includes travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park on the following transport services – just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
