Important Travel Advice

Sydney Olympic Park will be very busy on Tuesday night as The Weeknd concert also takes place at neighbouring Accor Stadium. Olivia Rodrigo ticketholders are urged to leave the car at home and catch transport to avoid traffic delays.

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe each concert night and the venue is a short walk from the station. Some additional services will also run to help you get there and home again.  

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you have to drive, travel with your group and pre-book your parking online to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.

Traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct each concert night as ticketholders travel in the already busy evening peak. Significant delays are expected on roads and entering car parks on Tuesday as The Weeknd concert also takes place at neighbouring Accor Stadium.

If you are attending Tuesday’s concert, parking is in high demand and expected to sell out prior to the event. It is essential you pre-book parking ahead of time to secure a space. Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park. 

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. 

Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.

Additional limited stop trains to Olympic Park and regular services to Lidcombe will run frequently before and after each show to get you there and home again. Take advantage of additional transport options available to avoid heavy traffic and extensive delays.

Getting there – Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October  

  • Leaving Blacktown at 5.34pm – stopping Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park 
  • Leaving Schofields at 5.58pm – stopping Blacktown, Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park 
  • Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late 12.30am. 

Getting there – Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 October 

  • Leaving Liverpool at 5.44pm – stopping Cabramatta, Fairfield, Granville, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 
  • Leaving Penrith at 6.07pm – stopping Blacktown, Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 
  • Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late 12.30am. 

Getting there and home on Tuesday 22 October 

  • Express trains to Olympic Park from the city and western line stations, as well as regular services to Lidcombe, will run frequently before and after the show to get you there and home again. Use the Trip Planner or download the free Opal Travel App to plan your trip. 

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place throughout the event on the following lines that may affect how you travel. Plan you trip using the Trip Planner.

Thursday 17 October 

  • T1 North Shore Line: Nightly from 10pm to 3am, buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby. Trains run between Hornsby and the City to the normal timetable. 
  • T2 Leppington Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. From 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and the City. Buses also replace T3 Bankstown Line trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Trains continue to run between Macarthur, Glenfield and the City via the Airport. 
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, to a changed timetable. Buses also replace T2 Leppington Line trains between Leppington and Fairfield or Granville. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall or Cronulla and the City Circle, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Change at Sydenham or Central for metro services to Martin Place, change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff and change at Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Granville or Fairfield. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. From 9.30pm to 1.30am, trains between Sydenham and the City Circle will not run. T4 trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 10pm to 3.50am, buses replace trains between Gosford and Hornsby. Trains run between Newcastle Interchange and Gosford, and between Hornsby and Central, some to a changed timetable. 
  • Hunter Line: From 10pm to 3.50am, some trains run up to 20 minutes later than the normal timetable. Buses replace the 8:14am Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook service and the 10:09am Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange service. Trains run to the normal timetable between Maitland and Newcastle Interchange. 
  • South Coast Line: From 9.40am to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and North Sydney or the City Circle. Change at Central for metro services to Martin Place or buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff. Change at Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. 

Friday 18 October 

  • T2 Leppington Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. 

Monday 21 October

There is no scheduled trackwork on Monday 21 October. 

Tuesday 22 October

  • T5 Cumberland Line: From 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.

The following Sydney bus services run to Olympic Park: 

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington  
  • Route 526 runs between Burwood and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park each concert night as attendees travel to the shows in the busy evening peak. Travel with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road.

The nearest Taxi Rank is on Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel*. 

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event. 

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

*For Tuesday's concert, the Taxi Rank will be located On Herb Elliot Avenue at Park Street due to road closures in the precinct.

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event, available until 11.59pm the night before. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time.

Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. 

If you haven’t pre-booked, follow the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to the best available casual parking. 

Traffic delays are expected after the show as attendees leave the precinct.
