Important Travel Advice
Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. Match tickets include travel on trains.
Due to planned trackwork, buses replace T4 Line trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Central, and South Coast Line trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Central. Allow extra travel time to connect with replacement buses to and from Woolooware Station, which is within walking distance of the Stadium.
Station shuttle buses will also run to the stadium from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before and after the game. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders.
If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans make their way to the match in the busy evening peak. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Match Ticket Entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2025 Cronulla Sharks season home games at Sharks Stadium include travel on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations.
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
For travel on buses, ferries, metro and light rail services you will need to use an Opal card or contactless payment method, see below for more information.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.
Change at Martin Place, Central or Sydenham for a T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line service to Woolooware.
Extra metro services run due to train trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines.

The closest station to Sharks Stadium (Shark Park) is Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. The station is a short 15-minute walk from the stadium.

Shuttle buses will also run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before the game to get you to Sharks Stadium. Shuttle buses departing Woolooware Train Station will leave from the Kingsway side of the Station. Trackwork
Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 16 August on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 Metro Line: Extra metro services run due to train trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines.
- T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Richmond trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Riverstone and between Riverstone and the City. On Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, Richmond trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Riverstone and between Riverstone and Liverpool. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, Leppington trains will not stop at Ashfield. You may need to change at Strathfield to continue your journey. T9 trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Central. Some buses start and end at Redfern. Trains run between Central and Bondi Junction, to a changed timetable.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Riverstone and between Riverstone and Liverpool.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central. Trains run to the normal timetable between Macarthur, Revesby and the City via the Airport. Trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines may also affect how you travel.
- T9 Northern Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
- South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Central. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable.

Regular route buses
Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of the stadium including routes 985, 969, 971 and 978. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip by bus.
Station shuttle buses
Shuttle buses will run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations from before the game to get you to PoinstBet Stadium. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders and will commence service when gates open.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

From Central, change for rail replacement buses to Woolooware.
L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street).
From Central, change for rail replacement buses to Woolooware.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and catch a train service from Parramatta Station to Redfern or Central where you can connect with rail replacement buses to Woolooware.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to the match. Travel with your group, use nearby local parking and allow extra travel time.
For passenger drop-offs, cars can ‘kiss and drop’ in the bus bay out the front of the Stadium. However, please note that Captain Cook Drive will be closed in the immediate vicinity of the Stadium from about 10 minutes prior to kick-off and for around 30 minutes after full time.
For post-match passenger pick-ups, use Gannons Road or Woolooware Road.
Road closures
Road closures will be in place on Captain Cook Drive from approximately 10 minutes before kick-off and 30 minutes after full time to for the safety of pedestrians. Allow extra travel time if you are driving in the area.
