Important Travel Advice
Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.
- Trains run regularly to Penrith on the T1 Western Line. Free shuttles buses will run from the station to the stadium throughout the event.
- You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
- If you need to drive, carpool with your group and allow extra travel time. Traffic may be heavier than usual when travelling to or from the venue, particularly during weekday peak travel times. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
- Limited pre-booked parking is available at the Sydney International Regatta Centre and free shuttles buses will run from the car park to the stadium throughout the event. There is no on-site parking available at Penrith Whitewater Stadium.
- If you are getting dropped off or picked up by taxi or rideshare, use the designated area on McCarthy’s Lane.
- Alternatively, consider parking at a station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train and then event shuttle bus to the stadium.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits including daily and weekly fare caps.
Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.
Change at Central for a T1 Western Line train to Penrith. Alternatively, change at Epping for a train to Strathfield to connect with T1 Western Line services to Penrith. From Penrith you can catch a free event shuttle bus to the venue, running throughout the event.

- From Penrith Station: buses will run every 20-minutes (approx.) from the southern side of Dunshea Street (northwest of Penrith Station).
- From Sydney International Regatta Centre Park&Ride: buses will run every 10-minutes (approx.) from the Venue Management Office. Please note that you must have pre-booked parking.

Regular route buses
Busways service the Penrith region and make stops nearby on Castlereagh Road, however there are no suitable walking routes from stops to the stadium.
Event shuttle buses
Free event shuttle buses will run to Penrith Whitewater Stadium from Penrith Station and from the Park&Ride at Sydney International Regatta Centre each event day. L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Penrith from Parramatta Station. From Penrith Station, catch a free event shuttle bus to the event.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks. Consider parking at a station near you then continuing your trip by train to Penrith Station where you can connect with free event shuttle buses to the stadium.
- T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Emu Plains, Rooty Hill, St Marys and Penrith.
- T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.
- T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Leppington and Edmonson Park.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
