Important Travel Advice

Sydney Olympic Park will be at high capacity on Friday 10 April with thousands of people attending the Sydney Royal Easter Show in the precinct. Concertgoers are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and consider the public transport options to get to the show. 

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station.

You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.  Note that P5 & P6 car parks are closed due to Easter Show infrastructure.

Opal 

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail. 

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer

More ways to pay 

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps. 

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Central to connect with express trains to Olympic Park. Alternatively, change at Epping for a train to Strathfield then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.  

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until 12:30am   

Additional trains will run for the Sydney Royal Easter Show that concertgoers can utilise to get to and from the show. 

Trackwork 

There is no planned trackwork taking place on Friday 10 April. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

The following Sydney bus services run to Olympic Park: 

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington.
  • Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf. 
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde. 

Bus Diversions 

From 4am Thursday 2 April to 4am Tuesday 14 April buses in Olympic Park will be using different stops and routes while roads are closed in the precinct for the Sydney Royal Easter Show.   

Stops on Park Street at Olympic Park Station and on Dawn Fraser Avenue will be closed.    

  • Routes 525 and 526 in both directions will use alternative stops on Edwin Flack Avenue and a temporary stop on Dawn Fraser Avenue at Park St near the train station (Stop ID 212799).
  • Routes 533 and N81 in both directions will use a temporary stop on Dawn Fraser Avenue at Park Street near the train station (Stop ID 212799). 

Allow extra time and check signs at stops for alternate stop locations.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf. 

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

F3 Parramatta River ferries may be affected by low tide between Parramatta and Rydalmere and replaced by buses. Check for updates here

L1 Dulwich Hill Line 

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for express trains to Olympic Park. Alternatively, catch a train to Lidcombe to connect with Olympic Park sprint services. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for express trains to Olympic Park. Alternatively, catch a train to Lidcombe to connect with Olympic Park sprint services. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.   

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Significant traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct while the Easter Show is on and during weeknight peak travel times. 

Travel with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. 

Consider catching public transport or parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park to avoid traffic and car park delays. Match tickets include travel on public transport.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road.

Road closures and changes to parklands will be in place within the Sydney Olympic Park Precinct before, during and after the Easter Show for event set up and pack down.

  • Olympic Boulevard 100m north of Dawn Fraser Avenue adjacent to Cathy Freeman Park amenities, to 200m south of Edwin Flack Avenue outside Qudos Bank Arena. 

Thursday 19 March at 1.30am to Tuesday 21 April at 1.30am:  

  • Australia Avenue from Murray Rose Avenue to Kevin Coombs Avenue.
  • Showground Road from Murray Rose Avenue to Grand Parade.
  • Grand Parade from Olympic Boulevard to Australia Avenue. 

Thursday 2 April at 1.30am to Tuesday 14 April at 4am:  

  • Kevin Coombs Avenue from Australia Avenue to Pondage Link.
  • Marjorie Jackson Parkway from Wentworth Common Carpark to Australia Avenue.
  • No right turn available onto Holker Busway from Marjorie Jackson Parkway.
  • No left turn available from Holker Busway onto Marjorie Jackson Parkway.
  • Olympic Boulevard from Kevin Coombs Avenue to Sarah Durack Avenue.
  • Showground Road from Murray Rose Avenue to Dawn Fraser Avenue.
  • Murray Rose Avenue from Showground Road to Gate 15 and Park Street.
  • Dawn Fraser Avenue from Edwin Flack Avenue to Showground Road (accessible drop-off/pick-up and Show drop-off/pick-up – Edwin Flack Avenue to Fig Grove).
  • Dawn Fraser Avenue from Showground Road to Park Street.
  • Dawn Fraser Avenue from Park Street to Australia Avenue (eastbound only).
  • Park Street from Dawn Fraser Avenue to Herb Elliott Avenue (northbound only).
  • Murray Rose Avenue from Park Street to the west side of the entrance or carpark P6D.
  • Australia Avenue from Dawn Fraser Avenue to Murray Rose Avenue.
  • Shirley Strickland Avenue from Rod Laver Drive to Olympic Boulevard.
  • Shirley Strickland Avenue from Olympic Boulevard to the M4 Exit (P4 car park).
  • Rod Laver Drive from Shirley Strickland Avenue to the Tennis Centre.
  • Shane Gould Avenue at P2A Car Park. (eastern direction).

Taxis are available on Herb Elliott Ave near Australia Ave until 5pm and then on Murray Rose Ave (near the Coca-Cola Carnival gate) from 5pm to 11pm.

An accessible drop off and pick up zone will be located on Dawn Fraser Avenue between Edwin Flack Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, access via Edwin Flack Avenue.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct during the Show, particularly on the Easter long weekend.

There is no designated rideshare pick up location in the precinct. Demand for rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed and consider catching a train or bus outside of the precinct instead to catch rideshare.

The closest car park to Qudos Bank Arena is P1. 

Please note that P5 & P6 car parks are closed due to infrastructure in place for the Easter Show.    

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event, available until 23:59 the night before unless sold out prior. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time.  

Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. Traffic delays are expected after the event as attendees leave the precinct. 

If you haven’t pre-booked, follow the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to the best available casual parking.
