With thousands of people expected to attend the Flower Market by CJ Hendry in The Domain Sydney, attendees are encouraged to plan their journey ahead.

The best way to get to the event is by train. Trains run regularly to Martin Place, St James and Town Hall all within walking distance of The Domain Sydney. Buses also run regularly to these transport hubs.

Be aware of planned weekend trackwork on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May:

  • Metro services will not operate due to essential testing on the Southwest extension. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only. Use trains between Epping or Chatswood and Sydenham. 
  • L2 & L3 light rail services will not operate between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford/Randwick. For travel around the City Circle use train services. Replacement buses will run between Central and Juniors Kingsford/Randwick. Read the news story for more information. Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at  Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.    

M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line Planned Trackwork – Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May 

  • Metro services will not run between Tallawong and Sydenham.
  • Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only.
  • For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
  • Trackwork on the T9 Northern Line may also affect how you travel. Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.
  • For travel between Chatswood and Sydenham use:
    • T1 trains between Chatswood and the City
    • T4 trains between Martin Place and Sydenham 

Alight at Martin Place to get within close walking distance of the event.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 May on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

Friday 15 May

  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 11.55pm, buses replace trains from Gosford to Newcastle Interchange, in that direction only. Trains run between Central and Gosford, some to a changed timetable. All buses will depart from the bus interchange at Gosford station
  • Hunter Line: From 11.15pm, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Telarah, in that direction only. 

Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 May

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line:  Metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. Trackwork on the T9 Northern Line may also affect how you travel. For travel between Chatswood and Sydenham use: T1 trains between Chatswood and the City or T4 trains between Martin Place and Sydenham
  • T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Berowra and Gordon. Trains run between Gordon and the City, some to a changed timetable. Sydney Metro trackwork may also affect how you travel.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: On Sunday from 5.30am to 9.40am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: On Sunday from 5.30am to 9.40am, trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: On Sunday from 5.30am to 9.40am, buses replace trains Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, and between Richmond or Schofields and Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. From 9.40am to 11.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Granville, and between Schofields and Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: On Sunday from 5.30am to 11.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
  • T9 Northern Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Strathfield and the City. Sydney Metro trackwork may also affect how you travel.
  • Blue Mountains Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. T1 Western Line trains run between Penrith, Blacktown and the City. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run 30 minutes later than normal.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Gordon. T1 North Shore Line trains run between Gordon and the City, some to a changed timetable. Until Sunday 11pm, all buses will depart from the bus interchange at Gosford station. Sydney Metro trackwork may also affect how you travel.
  • Hunter Line: Buses replace trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
  • South Coast Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.

Plenty of regular route buses run to the City making stops within short walking distance of The Domain.  

The closest bus interchanges are at Martin Place, Wynyard, Hyde Park and Town Hall QVB.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central connect with a train service to Martin Place to get within walking distance of The Domain Sydney.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

Due to planned trackwork, L2 and L3 light rail services will not operate between Juniors Kingsford/Randwick and Circular Quay over Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 May.

From Central connect with a train service to Martin Place to get within walking distance of The Domain Sydney.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a train service to Town Hall to get within walking distance of The Domain Sydney.

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.
