Important Travel Advice
Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.
Match tickets include travel on trains. For travel on buses, ferries, metro and light rail services you will need to use an Opal card or contactless payment method, see below for more information.
Trains run regularly to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line, which is within walking distance of the Stadium. Station shuttle buses will also run to the stadium from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before and after the game. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders.
If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Match Ticket Entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2026 Cronulla Sharks season home games at Ocean Protect Stadium include travel on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations.
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.
M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line planned trackwork – Sunday 3 to Wednesday 6 May
- On Sunday from 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only.
- Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham.
- For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
- The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 21:44, Martin Place at 21:53, arriving Tallawong at 22:42.
- The last metro service to Sydenham leaves Tallawong at 21:00, Martin Place at 21:48, arriving Sydenham at 21:58.
Change at Martin Place, Central or Sydenham for a T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line service to Woolooware.

The closest station to Ocean Protect Stadium (Shark Park) is Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. The station is a short 15-minute walk from the stadium.
Shuttle buses will also run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before the game to get you to Ocean Protect Stadium. Shuttle buses departing Woolooware Train Station will leave from the Kingsway side of the Station. After the game, return shuttle buses will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.
Trackwork
Planned trackwork is taking place on Sunday 3 May on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 21:44, Martin Place at 21:53, arriving Tallawong at 22:42. - T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Richmond and Fairfield – change at Parramatta for trains towards the City, and Penrith and the City, making extra stops at Flemington and Burwood.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Leppington and the City via the Airport, Fairfield and Richmond – change at Parramatta for trains towards the City via Granville and Homebush or Ashfield and the City.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, to a changed timetable and frequency. Inner West trains run between Homebush or Ashfield and the City. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Glenfield, and between Fairfield and Schofields or Richmond.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change at: Lidcombe for T1 trains towards City or Parramatta, Regents Park for T3 buses towards Liverpool or Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington or Revesby and the City via the Airport. T8 trains continue to run between Sydenham and the City Circle, some to a changed timetable.
- Blue Mountains Line: Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Use T1 Western Line trains between Blacktown and the City. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountain Line stations run 30 minutes later than the normal timetable.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey.
- South Coast Line: From 2.30am to 12pm, buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Port Kembla and Wollongong. Trains run between Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. The 02:39 Kiama to Bondi Junction service will run up to 20 minutes earlier than the normal timetable from Kiama to Coniston, then run to the normal timetable from Wollongong to Bondi Junction.
- Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Glenfield. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Glenfield and the City via the Airport, to a changed timetable.

Regular route buses
Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of the stadium including routes 985, 969, 971 and 978. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip by bus.
Station shuttle buses
Shuttle buses will run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations from before the game to get you to Ocean Protect Stadium. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders and will commence service when gates open.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line.
L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and catch a train service from Parramatta Station to Redfern or Central where you can connect with a T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line train service to Woolooware.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to the match. Travel with your group, use nearby local parking and allow extra travel time.
For passenger drop-offs, cars can ‘kiss and drop’ in the bus bay out the front of the Stadium.
For post-match passenger pick-ups, use Gannons Road or Woolooware Road.
Road closures
Captain Cook Drive will be closed in the immediate vicinity of the Stadium from 15-minutes before full-time until 30-minutes after full time (45-minute closure).
All road closures will be implemented and managed by NSW Police. Allow extra travel time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity in the area.
