Opal 

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail. 

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer. 

More ways to pay 

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps. 

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Afterpay Arena (formerly Qudos Bank Arena) is Olympic Park.  

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late. 

Trackwork on Saturday evening may impact your trip home from Olympic Park:

• From 8pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield. Trackwork buses do not leave from Lidcombe.
• Trains continue to run, to a changed timetable, between Penrith and Olympic Park, Richmond and Liverpool, and Ashfield and the City Circle
• If you're heading home towards the city, you'll need to catch a replacement bus from Olympic Park to Ashfield or Central. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

Trackwork 

While no planned trackwork will be taking place on Friday 28 August, planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 29 – Sunday 30 August on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.  

Weekend - Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 August

• T1 North Shore Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. Saturday from 8.40pm to 2am, trains run between Berowra and Wynyard, and between City Circle stations and Ashfield only. Change trains at Wynyard to continue your journey. Metro services run between Chatswood and the City. 
• T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Penrith trains make extra stops between Lidcombe and Ashfield. Richmond trains run between Richmond and Liverpool. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey. Saturday from 5.30am to 9am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown. From 9am to 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields. Trains run between Blacktown or Schofields and Liverpool.  Saturday from 8pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield or Central. Trackwork buses do not leave from Lidcombe. Trains run to a changed timetable between: Penrith and Olympic Park, Richmond and Liverpool and Ashfield and the City Circle You may need to change services to continue your journey.
• T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Inner West trains do not run. T1 Western or T9 Northern Line trains make extra stops at some stations between Lidcombe and Central. Most trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park via Granville, and between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. You will need to change trains if travelling to Museum, St James or Circular Quay. Saturday from 8pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield or Central. Trackwork buses do not leave from Lidcombe. Trains run to a changed timetable between Ashfield and the City Circle. Sunday from 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Schofields, and between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park only. Change trains at Parramatta or Lidcombe to continue your journey.
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Inner West trains do not run. T1 Western or T9 Northern Line trains make extra stops at some stations between Lidcombe and Central. Trains run between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park only. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. You will need to change trains if travelling to Museum, St James or Circular Quay. Saturday from 8pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield or Central. Trackwork buses do not leave from Lidcombe. You may need to change services to continue your journey. Trains run to a changed timetable between Ashfield and the City Circle.
• T5 Cumberland Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Saturday from 5.30am to 9am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown. From 9am to 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields. Trains run between Blacktown or Schofields and Liverpool.
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
• T7 Olympic Park Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park and Lidcombe or Leppington. Saturday from 8pm to 2am, trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, continuing to Leppington or Penrith. Buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield or Central.
• T8 Airport & South Line: Trains between Sydenham and the City Circle run to a changed timetable. Trains via the Airport run to the normal timetable.
• T9 Northern Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stop at all stations between Ashfield and Macdonaldtown. Saturday from 8pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Epping and Ashfield or Central. Use metro services between Epping and the City. Trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Epping, and between Ashfield and the City Circle. The last train to Hornsby leaves Central at 19:35, arriving Hornsby at 20:44. The last train to Central leaves Hornsby at 19:24, arriving Central at 20:27.
• Blue Mountains Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. Saturday from 8.10am to 2am, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run up to 15 minutes later than the normal timetable. Bathurst trains run between Bathurst and Lithgow or Central. T1 Western Line trains run between Penrith, Blacktown and the City. From 8pm to 2am, T1 Western Line trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Olympic Park. Buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Central. Sunday from 11am to 1.30pm, buses replace trains between Mount Victoria and Lithgow. Trains run to a changed timetable between Mount Victoria and Central.
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. Some trains may leave Central earlier than the normal train timetable. Saturday from 8pm to 2.20am, trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Hornsby only. T1 North Shore Line trains run between Hornsby and Wynyard, and T9 Northern Line trains run between Hornsby and Epping only. Buses replace trains between Epping and Ashfield or Central. Use metro services between Epping or Chatswood and the City. The last trains to run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Central leave: Wyong at 18:09, arriving Central at 20:17 and Central at 19:43, arriving Wyong at 21:47

The following route buses run towards Olympic Park: 

• Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Lidcombe. Connect with trains to continue your trip to Olympic Park. 
• Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf. 
• Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Afterpay Arena (formerly Qudos Bank Arena) is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf. 

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

F3 Parramatta River ferries may be affected by low tide between Parramatta and Rydalmere and replaced by buses. Check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line 

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe, then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.   

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to the event.

Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. Pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.  

Road Closures 

Sydney Olympic Park Authority may close some local roads to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during events. For road closure details, visit the Sydney Olympic Park interactive map for more details.

The nearest Taxi Rank is on Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel. 

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event. A flat rate $40 parking fee will apply.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time.

If you haven’t pre-booked, follow the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to the best available casual parking.
