Match Ticket Entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2026 Cronulla Sharks season home games at Ocean Protect Stadium include travel on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services:  

• Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations. 

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day. 

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

For travel on buses, ferries, metro and light rail services you will need to use an Opal card or contactless payment method, see below for more information.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Central or Sydenham for a T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line service to Woolooware.

Train trackwork on the T4 Eastern Suburbs Line may affect how you travel. Buses replace trains between Bondi Junction and Central, but do not stop at Martin Place.  

If travelling to T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line stations change at:

• Gadigal for express buses from Town Hall to Bondi Junction  
• Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or trains to T4 Illawarra Line stations

The closest station to Ocean Protect Stadium (Shark Park) is Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. The station is a short 15-minute walk from the stadium. 

Shuttle buses will also run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before the game to get you to Ocean Protect Stadium. Shuttle buses departing Woolooware Train Station will leave from the Kingsway side of the Station. After the game, return shuttle buses will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 15 August on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

• T1 Western Line: Buses replace trains between Emu Plains, Richmond and Parramatta. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Parramatta and the City.
• T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 7.40am to 2pm, buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield.  Trains run between Glenfield and the City via Granville or the Airport, some to a changed timetable.
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10:30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 Western and T2 Leppington Line trains run between Lidcombe and the City.
• T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction, but do not stop at Martin Place. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Waterfall, and the City Circle, with some making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or at Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. From Martin Place Station, use metro services, local buses, or walk to Wynyard Station for trains to T4 Illawarra Line stations.
• T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Richmond and Parramatta. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Parramatta or Leppington and the City via Granville. You may need to change services to continue your journey. From 7.40am to 2pm, buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Parramatta or Glenfield and the City via Granville.
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
• T8 Airport & South Line: Trains between Sydenham and the City Circle run to a changed timetable. Trains via the Airport run to the normal timetable.
• Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Bathurst and Parramatta. T1 Western Line trains run to a changed timetable between Parramatta and the City.
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 7.30pm to 4.50am, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Wyong. From 7.50pm to 4.20am, buses replace trains from Wyong to Newcastle Interchange. Trains run to a changed timetable between Wyong and Central. -The last train towards Newcastle Interchange leaves Central at 17:18, arriving Newcastle Interchange at 19:48.
• Hunter Line: From 7.30pm to 5am, trains run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Newcastle Interchange and Wyong.
• South Coast Line: Most trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and Hurstville only. T4 Illawarra Line trains run to a changed timetable between Hurstville and the City Circle. Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction, but do not stop at Martin Place. Change at Hurstville for T4 trains towards the City; at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or at Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction.  From Martin Place Station, use the metro, local buses, or walk to Wynyard Station for trains to T4 Illawarra Line stations.

Regular route buses

Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of the stadium including routes 985, 969, 971 and 978. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip by bus.

Station shuttle buses

Shuttle buses will run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations from before the game to get you to Ocean Protect Stadium. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders and will commence service when gates open.

Return services will run for around an hour after full time and will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive, near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

Due to planned weekend trackwork and maintenance, buses replace all L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August.  

Replacement buses do not stop at Capitol Square (both directions), or at Exhibition Centre (towards The Star). Read the news story for more details and plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. 

Due to planned weekend trackwork and maintenance, L2 and L3 light rail services will not run between Circular Quay and Central Chalmers Street on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August. Use trains or local buses instead.

From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Alight at Parramatta Square and catch a train service from Parramatta Station to Redfern or Central where you can connect with a T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line train service to Woolooware.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to the match. Travel with your group, use nearby local parking and allow extra travel time.

For passenger drop-offs, cars can ‘kiss and drop’ in the bus bay out the front of the Stadium. 

For post-match passenger pick-ups, use Gannons Road or Woolooware Road.

Road closures

Captain Cook Drive will be closed in the immediate vicinity of the Stadium from 15-minutes before full-time until 30-minutes after full time (45-minute closure). 

All road closures will be implemented and managed by NSW Police. Allow extra travel time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity in the area.

Supporters travelling by taxi or rideshare services may be dropped off in the bus bay located directly in front of the stadium, on Captain Cook Drive. Gannons Road and Woolooware Road are recommended post-game pick-up points.

Public parking in the vicinity of the stadium is limited. Pre-book your match day parking online at Bay Central, Woolooware next door to the stadium.
