Match Ticket Entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2026 Cronulla Sharks season home games at Ocean Protect Stadium include travel on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services:  

• Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations. 

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day. 

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. Extra metro services will run on Saturday due to train trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines.

Be aware of Sydney Trains trackwork - buses replace T4 Illawarra Line trains and T8 South Line trains between Sydenham and Central. Change at:

• Martin Place or Central for trains towards Bondi Junction 
• Central for express and limited stop buses to T4 Illawarra and South Coast Line stations  
• Sydenham for all-stations buses towards Hurstville

The closest station to Ocean Protect Stadium (Shark Park) is Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. The station is a short 15-minute walk from the stadium. 

Major weekend trackwork is taking place on the T4 Illawarra Line and South Coast Line that will affect your trip:

• Buses replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Central
• Buses also replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Central
• Catch a replacement bus to Woolooware station. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Shuttle buses will also run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before the game to get you to Ocean Protect Stadium. Shuttle buses departing Woolooware Train Station will leave from the Kingsway side of the Station. After the game, return shuttle buses will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 5 September on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 Western and T2 Leppington Line trains run between Lidcombe and the City.
• T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Central. Some buses start and end at Redfern. Trains run between Central and Bondi Junction, to a changed timetable. If travelling to the Airport change at Central for a T8 Airport train if you have luggage or accessibility needs.
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
• T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central. Trains run to the normal timetable between Macarthur, Revesby and the City via the Airport. Trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for trains towards Bondi Junction, buses to T4 Illawarra and South Coast Line stations, or if you have luggage or accessibility needs.
• South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Central. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable. For travel to the Airport, change at Central for a T8 Airport & South Line train if you have luggage or accessibility needs.
• Southern Highlands Line: The following trains leave Central earlier than the normal timetable: the 16:06 Central to Moss Vale service leaves Central at 16:03, and the 17:54 Central to Goulburn service leaves Central at 17:45.

Regular route buses

Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of the stadium including routes 985, 969, 971 and 978. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip by bus.

Station shuttle buses

Shuttle buses will run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations from before the game to get you to Ocean Protect Stadium. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders and will commence service when gates open.

Return services will run for around an hour after full time and will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive, near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.

Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay and change for a train to Central to connect with a replacement bus to Woolooware.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a replacement bus to Woolooware.  

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a replacement bus to Woolooware.  

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Alight at Parramatta Square and catch a train service from Parramatta Station to Central where you can connect with a replacement bus to Woolooware.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to the match. Travel with your group, use nearby local parking and allow extra travel time.

For passenger drop-offs, cars can ‘kiss and drop’ in the bus bay out the front of the Stadium. 

For post-match passenger pick-ups, use Gannons Road or Woolooware Road.

Road closures

Captain Cook Drive will be closed in the immediate vicinity of the Stadium from 15-minutes before full-time until 30-minutes after full time (45-minute closure). 

All road closures will be implemented and managed by NSW Police. Allow extra travel time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity in the area.

Supporters travelling by taxi or rideshare services may be dropped off in the bus bay located directly in front of the stadium, on Captain Cook Drive. Gannons Road and Woolooware Road are recommended post-game pick-up points.

Public parking in the vicinity of the stadium is limited. Pre-book your match day parking online at Bay Central, Woolooware next door to the stadium.
