Opal 

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail. 

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer. 

More ways to pay 

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps. 

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line trackwork – Friday 2 October

• On Friday 2 October from 9.10pm, metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham.
• Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only.
• Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham.

The closest station to Afterpay Arena (formerly Qudos Bank Arena) is Olympic Park.  

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late. 

Note the following changes if you’re attending shows on Saturday or Monday. 

• Saturday 3 October: Additional trains will run from the city to Olympic Park on Saturday for Knockout Outdoor music festival being held at nearby Sydney Showground.  
• Monday 5 October: Please note for fans travelling to the show from the city that buses replace trains between Ashfield and Olympic Park from 6pm to 2am. Allow extra travel time as you’ll need to change for replacement buses to continue your trip. Express buses also run between Olympic Park and Central. Note: Trackwork buses do not leave from Lidcombe. Trains continue to run to the west/south west between Olympic Park and Penrith or Leppington. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Friday 2 October

• M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: From 9.10pm, metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only. Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern 

Saturday 3 October

• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 9.30am to 1pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 Western and T2 Leppington Line trains run between Lidcombe and the City.
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 9.30am to 1pm, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
• Blue Mountains Line: From 9.20am to 4.40pm, buses replace trains between Lithgow and Katoomba. Trains run to a changed timetable between Katoomba and Central.
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Gosford. Trains run between Gosford and Central, to a changed timetable. From 5.30am to 10.30am, at Hawkesbury River and Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2. From 7am to 11.10am, trains towards Hornsby do not stop at Cowan. Buses run from Hawkesbury River to Cowan, and from Cowan to Berowra, in that direction only. If travelling to Cowan, change at Hawkesbury River for a bus. At Cowan, catch a bus to Berowra then change for a train to continue your journey. Trains towards Gosford continue to stop at Cowan.
• South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. Buses towards Wollongong may leave stations up to 15 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.  From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Waterfall and Helensburgh, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Helensburgh and Waterfall, all trains leave from platform 2. 

Monday 5 October 

• T1 North Shore Line: From 6pm to 2am, trains run between Berowra and the City, continuing to Ashfield. Buses replace trains between Central and Olympic Park or Rhodes
• T1 Western Line: From 6pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield. Express buses also run between Olympic Park and Central. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe. Trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Olympic Park, between Richmond and Liverpool and between Ashfield and the City, continuing to T1 North Shore Line stations. You may need to change services to continue your journey.
• T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 6pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield. Express buses also run between Olympic Park and Central. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park, between Glenfield and the City via the Airport and between Ashfield and the City, continuing to T1 North Shore Line stations. You may need to change services to continue your journey.
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 9.30am to 1pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 Western and T2 Leppington Line trains run between Lidcombe and the City. From 6pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield. Express buses also run between Olympic Park and Central. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe. • T7 Olympic Park Line: From 6pm to 2am, trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Olympic Park and Penrith or Leppington. Buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Ashfield. Express buses also run between Olympic Park and Central. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe.
• T9 Northern Line: From 6pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Rhodes and Ashfield. Express buses also run between Rhodes and Central. Use metro services between Epping and the City. Trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Rhodes, and between Ashfield and the City.
• Blue Mountains Line: From 6pm to 2am, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run up to 30 minutes later than the normal timetable. T1 Western Line trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Olympic Park. Buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Central.
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Wyong. Trains run between Wyong and Central, some to a changed timetable. From 6pm to 2am, trains run between Wyong and Hornsby only. T1 North Shore Line trains run between Hornsby and the City, and T9 Northern Line trains run between Hornsby and Rhodes only. Buses replace trains between Rhodes and Ashfield or Central. Use metro services between Epping or Chatswood and the City.
• South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. Buses towards Wollongong may leave stations up to 15 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.

The following route buses run towards Olympic Park: 

• Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Lidcombe. Connect with trains to continue your trip to Olympic Park. 
• Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf. 
• Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

On Saturday 3 October, additional 526 and 533 buses will run in the afternoon to help fans get to the show, and additional buses will also run to help fans getting home.

The closest wharf to Afterpay Arena (formerly Qudos Bank Arena) is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf. 

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

F3 Parramatta River ferries may be affected by low tide between Parramatta and Rydalmere and replaced by buses. Check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line 

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe, then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.   

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to the event.

Please note Sydney Olympic Park will be busy on Saturday 3 October with 60,000 expected for Knockout Outdoor festival being held at Sydney Showgrounds. Attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transport if they’re attending the show on this day. 

Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. Pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.  

Road Closures 

Sydney Olympic Park Authority will close local roads in the precinct and traffic congestion is expected before and after the shows for nearby events within the park. For road closure details, visit the Sydney Olympic Park Authority interactive map.

The nearest Taxi Rank is on Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel. 

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event. A flat rate $40 parking fee will apply.  Pre-booking parking will be particularly crucial for fans attending the show on Saturday 3 October with nearby Knockout Outdoor at Sydney Showgrounds.

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time.

If you haven’t pre-booked, follow the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to the best available casual parking.
