Important Travel Advice
Ticketholders are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.
Race day tickets include travel on all public transport modes. Simply show your ticket or ATC members card to transport staff when boarding services.
Light rail services run regularly to Royal Randwick on the L2 Line or to Kensington on the L3 Line, which is within short walking distance of the racecourse. Additional light rail services will run between Central Chalmers Street and Royal Randwick to help you get to and from the event. Be aware that trackwork may affect how you travel to the racecourse:
- Trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. Use metro, light rail or local buses to continue your trip. From Wynyard connect with Light rail services from George St to Royal Randwick.
- Buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run.
If you’re driving, there’s plenty of parking on-site at the racecourse or consider using rideshare and taxis instead; use the dedicated drop-off areas available. Traffic may be heavier than usual in the area so allow extra travel time, you can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Event ticket entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to Everest Carnival 2026 at Randwick Racecourse between 19 September and 7 November (inclusive) include travel to and from Royal Randwick Racecourse on the following transport services – just show your event ticket or ATC Members card to transport staff when boarding:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
- Sydney Metro services
- Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan bus services
- Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
- Sydney and Newcastle Ferries
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
Transport Park&Ride Car Parks
Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
Tickets to Everest Carnival race days at Royal Randwick Racecourse include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.
If you use a Transport Connect account to access Park&Ride, the boom gate will automatically open as you leave the car park so you’ll need to request a refund in your account.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.
Change at Central to connect with light rail services to Royal Randwick on the L2 Randwick Line or to Kensington on the L3 Kingsford Line.

- City Circle: Trains do not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel in the City use T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains, metro, light rail, local buses or walk. Trackwork also affects trains on other lines
- T1 North Shore Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Wynyard only, due to City Circle trackwork. Use metro services between Chatswood and the City or change at Wynyard for light rail or local bus services. Trains do not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle. From 7.30am to 8pm, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Gordon. Trains run to a changed timetable between Gordon and Wynyard only.
- T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Richmond and Liverpool. You may need to change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey; and Penrith and Central, platforms 1-14 only, making extra stops at Homebush, Flemington and Burwood. From 11.40pm to 5.30am Sunday, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Olympic Park. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park via Granville. From 11.40pm to 5.30am Sunday, buses replace all trains between Olympic Park and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park. Change at Olympic Park to continue your journey. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Bankstown. From 11.40pm to 5.30am Sunday, buses replace all trains between Olympic Park and Central. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Liverpool, and between Schofields and Leppington.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Trains run between Liverpool and Bankstown, and between Lidcombe and the City. From 11.40pm to 5.30am Sunday, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Olympic Park, and between Olympic Park and Central. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe.
- T7 Olympic Park Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, with some trains continuing to Leppington. From 11.40pm to 5.30am Sunday, buses replace all trains between Olympic Park and Central. Trains run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, continuing to Penrith or Leppington.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Most trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and Sydenham, or between Revesby and Central via the Airport, due to City Circle trackwork. Change at Revesby for trains to Central via the Airport, or at Sydenham for metro services to the City and T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains towards Bondi Junction. Early morning and late-night trains run between Macarthur and Central via the Airport. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T9 Northern Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Berowra and Central, platforms 1-14, and between Hornsby and Epping. Use metro services between Epping and the City. From 11.40pm to 5.30am Sunday, buses replace all trains between Strathfield and Central. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- Blue Mountains Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel
- South Coast Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and Sydenham only. Change at Sydenham for T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains or metro services to continue your journey. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- Southern Highlands Line: From 4.40am to 5.30pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Campbelltown and Sydenham, or between Revesby and Central via the Airport, due to City Circle trackwork.

A number of regular Sydney Buses travel between the city and eastern suburbs via Anzac Parade and Alison Road, making stops near the racecourse, including routes 339, 373, 374, 375 and 396.
Bus Stop Closure – 9am to 7.30pm
Route 339: Darley Road opposite Randwick TAFE (Stop ID 203144) will be closed for services travelling towards Clovelly. Use Centennial Park Main Gate, Darley Road (Stop ID 203145) instead.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line
L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Catch a light rail service to Royal Randwick on the L2 Randwick Line or Kensington on the L3 Kingsford Line to get within walking distance of the racecourse.
The Royal Randwick stop is located on Alison Road just across from the racecourse. The Kensington stop is located on Anzac Parade, a short walk from the racecourse entry on Ascot Street.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a light rail service to Royal Randwick on the L2 Randwick Line or Kensington on the L3 Kingsford Line to get within walking distance of the racecourse.
Service changes – L4 partial line closures due to Parramatta Lanes Festival
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services will not run between Westmead and Parramatta Square from 5pm to 11.30pm on Saturday 24 October. Buses will replace services. Light rail services will run between Carlingford and Parramatta Square only during these times.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads around the racecourse as crowds travel to and from the event. If you have to drive or are using taxis or rideshare, allow additional travel time. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Trams are running between the CBD and South East so pedestrians are reminded to exercise caution around the tram tracks and cross at designated pedestrian crossings.

Parking
There is free parking in the Infield car park on-site, entry via High Street opposite UNSW.
Members Private Reserved Parking is available in the multi-deck car park, entry via Ascot Street. Patrons must display their "members car park permit" at all times
Special Event Clearways
Special event clearways will be in place at the following times and locations:
- 4am – 7pm: Darley Road between Alison Road and the Grand Drive roundabout (western side)
- 8am – 7pm: Ascot Street between Doncaster Avenue and the roundabout at the entry to Randwick Racecourse Ascot Street entry (both sides)
- 3pm – 7pm: High Street between UNSW Gate Two Avenue and Anzac Parade (southern side)
Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.

Accessible parking: Disabled car parking is available in the Infield car park, entry via High Street opposite UNSW. A disabled parking sticker must be prominently displayed in the vehicle at all times.
