Extra support for hidden disabilities
Most disabilities are hard to see. Be seen with a Sunflower
If you or someone you care for has a hidden disability like autism, dementia, or anxiety, using public transport can be difficult.
When you wear the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, Sydney Trains, NSW TrainLink and Sydney Metro customer service staff will know that you or the person you care for has a hidden disability.
Our staff are trained to recognise the sunflower and will be ready to provide extra support including:
- Ensuring enough time to get on and off train services
- Help navigating through busy train stations
- Support during disruptions and travel changes
- Help finding quiet spaces as needed

Download the Travelling on Sydney Trains: Visual Story (pdf 4.8MB) and the Sydney Metro Visual Story (pdf 3.0MB) to help prepare you for your next train trip. We worked with Autism Spectrum Australia to make it.
