Use the Trip Planner

Bus passengers in the  Central West and Orana region can now plan bus trips online and make better-informed travel decisions using digital timetable information and real-time updates.

The Transport Connected Bus program has made this possible by fitting all contracted buses with state-of-the-art automatic passenger counting and vehicle tracking technology.

Passengers can now track the location of buses, view estimated arrival times at specific stops, see information about how full services are and find accessible buses.

For school services this means less worry for parents who can now view the location of school buses in real-time and confirm school bus pick-up and drop-off times at a glance thanks to a range of digital tools and travel planning apps.

How to plan your trip using real-time information

The NSW Government has been improving bus information through the Transport Connected Bus Program in rural and regional NSW since July 2020. Phase 1 delivered the technology for 462 services in Bega, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour and Phase 2 saw 1528 services benefit from TCB across the 14 regional areas of Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Forbes, Greater Nowra, Grafton, Griffith, Orange, Parkes, Port Macquarie, Queanbeyan, Tamworth, Tweed Heads and Wagga Wagga.

To date under Phase 3, Transport Connected Bus has been rolled out to the Hunter and Lower North Coast, North Coast, Southern Tablelands and Ulladulla, South East and Tablelands and Central West and Orana. Far West, New England North West and Riverina Murray are forecasted for completion by mid 2025.
