Bus improvements in Kiama and Jamberoo from 20 July

From Monday 20 July, we’re making changes to bus services in Kiama and Jamberoo to improve connectivity and travel times. 

The Route 125 service will see 10 additional weekly services added to the bus network between Jamberoo and Kiama on weekdays, including during school holidays. Additionally, students travelling to Jamberoo Public School from Curramore, Jamberoo and Kiama will benefit from a better-timed morning bus service.

The following routes will have timetable and route path changes: 

  • 125 Jamberoo to Kiama
  • 126 Gerroa to Kiama via Gerringong
  • S482 Kiama to Minnamurra Public School (morning service)
  • S484 Jamberoo Public School to Kiama (afternoon service)
  • S493 Gerringong to Kiama Schools (morning service)

126Gerroa to Kiama via Gerringong
  • Changed timetable and route path for some trips.
  • The current service departing Kiama Leisure Centre at 8.42am will instead commence at Kiama Station at 8.48am, and will no longer stop at Kiama Leisure Centre and Terralong St. Passengers at Kiama Leisure Centre and Terralong St can board Route 71 at 8.50am for access to Kiama CBD and Kiama Station.
  • Improved timetable. 
S482 (AM)Kiama to Minnamurra Public School
  • Route S482 morning service will now service only Jamberoo Public School.
  • Route S482 morning service no longer operates to Kiama High School or Minnamurra Public School. 
  • Kiama High School students from Jamberoo will instead use Route 125. 
  • A new interchange will be required for any students travelling to Minnamurra Public School residing in Curramore, Jamberoo and Jerrara, who previously used the S482 morning service. This will be a coordinated interchange between two buses from Route 125 to S493 at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Parish Primary School at 8.37am. The timetable allows for an immediate interchange between buses, with no wait time required.
  • Jamberoo Public School students previously using Route 125 arriving to school at 8.10am can instead use S482 arriving to school at 8.50am, resolving the issue of arriving at school 50 minutes before the morning bell. 
S484 (PM)Jamberoo Public School to Kiama
  • S484 afternoon service will change route numbers mid trip to Route 125.
  • S484 operates between Jamberoo Public School and Allowrie St Jamberoo, then converts to Route 125 from Allowrie St Jamberoo to Kiama. This provides an opportunity for the general community to make use of an additional bus service between Jamberoo and Kiama.
 
S493 (AM)                               Gerringong to Kiama Schools                                                                                 
  • S493 morning service will extend to Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Parish Primary School and Minnamurra Public School.
  • Students currently using S482 in the morning to Minnamurra Public School will now use S493.
  • Students south of Kiama attending Minnamurra Public School will now have a direct service to school.
