Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. 

Trains run regularly to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line, which is within walking distance of PointsBet Stadium.  

If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping for trains to the City to connect with T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line services to Woolooware.

Please note that trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel. If you are travelling to the city change at Epping, not Chatswood, for trains to Central.

The closest station to PointsBet Stadium (Shark Park) is Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. The station is a short 15-minute walk from the stadium.

Trackwork

Trackwork is taking place on Saturday 27 July on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:

  • City Circle: Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum. Some trains may start or end at Central, run to a changed timetable or leave from different platforms. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. The light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay and Central. 
  • T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard. T9 Northern Line trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield. Trackwork also affects trains on the City Circle. From Wynyard, trains run towards Town Hall and Central only. The light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central. 
  • T1 Western Line: Trains run between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12, only. Richmond trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park only. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City. 
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Leppington trains make extra stops at Homebush and Croydon. 
  • T3 Bankstown Line: Trains run between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Redfern only, some to a changed timetable. Change trains at Redfern to continue your journey. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs Line: From 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Some trains start or end at Hurstville or Sutherland. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Trains may leave from different platforms, please check indicator screens before boarding. 
  • T7 Olympic Park Line: Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Richmond.  
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Revesby trains run between Revesby and Central only. Most Macarthur trains from the City run via Sydenham. Trains to the City run via the Airport. Early morning and late evening trains run via the Airport but start and end at Central, platform 23. 
  • T9 Northern Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, only. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork affecting trains between Strathfield and Central. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork affecting trains between Strathfield and Central. 
  • South Coast Line: From 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains make extra stops between Sutherland and Hurstville. 
  • Southern Highlands Line: From 4.40am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Campbelltown and Central, some to a changed timetable.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to and from the match. Travel with your group, use nearby local parking and allow extra travel time.  

For passenger drop-offs, cars can ‘kiss and drop’ in the bus bay out the front of the Stadium. However, please note that Captain Cook Drive will be closed in the immediate vicinity of the Stadium from about 10 minutes prior to kick-off and for around 30 minutes after full time.  

For post-match passenger pick-ups, use Gannons Road or Woolooware Road. 

Road Closures 

Road closures may be in place on Captain Cook Drive from approximately 10 minutes before kick-off and 30 minutes after full time to for the safety of pedestrians. Allow extra travel time if you are driving in the area.

Supporters travelling by taxi or ride share services may be dropped off in the bus bay located directly in front of PointsBet Stadium, on Captain Cook Drive. Gannons Road and Woolooware Road are recommended post-game pick-up points.
