Important Travel Advice

Footy fans are encouraged to plan their trip and to consider all of the public transport options available ahead of time to avoid the heavy traffic. Match tickets include travel on public transport.  

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station. Tickets include travel on public transport.  

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.

Traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct as fans travel to and from the match. Ticketholders should consider leaving the car at home and catching public transport to avoid delays. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Match Ticket Entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2024 Canterbury Bulldogs season home games at Accor Stadium includes travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park on the following transport services. Just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day. 

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.

Tickets to 2024 Canterbury Bulldogs season home games at Accor Stadium include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Real-time parking availability allows you to see how many vacant car park spaces are available at Transport Park&Ride car parks.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. 

Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Accor Stadium is Olympic Park.

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.

To help you get to the match, an additional train will leave Campbelltown at 3.37pm – stopping all stations to Granville, Auburn then Olympic Park. 

Trackwork

Planned weeknight trackwork is taking place on Saturday 7 September on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

  • T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard. Metro services run between Chatswood and the City. T9 Northern Line trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield. 
  • T1 Western Line: Penrith trains run between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12 only, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line. Change at Central for City Circle trains, metro or light rail services to continue your journey. Trains make an extra stop at Flemington. Richmond trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park only.  Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City. 
  • T9 Northern Line: Until 8am, trains run between Berowra and Central, platforms 1-12, to a reduced frequency, every 30 minutes. From 8am, trains run between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12 only. Change at Central for City Circle trains, metro or light rail services to continue your journey. From 10.50pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Epping. Change at Epping for metro services to the City, or trains to Central, platforms 1-12. Buses also replace T1 North Shore Line trains between Hornsby and Wynyard. Most Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains continue to run. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace the 9.56pm Newcastle Interchange to Central service from Hornsby to Epping. Change at Epping for metro services to the City, or trains to Central, platforms 1-12. Buses also replace T1 North Shore Line trains between Hornsby and Wynyard. 
  • South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. Buses do not run to the train timetable. If you are connecting with trains at Wollongong you may need to catch an earlier bus to ensure you meet your train connection. 
  • Southern Highlands Line: From 4.40am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Campbelltown and Central via the Airport.

The following Sydney bus services run to Olympic Park: 

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington (this route no longer runs to or from Strathfield, if you are travelling from Strathfield catch a 526 buses instead).  
  • Route 526 runs between Burwood and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Accor Stadium is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf. 

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

F3 Parramatta River ferries may be affected by low tide between Parramatta and Rydalmere and replaced by buses. Check for updates here (pdf 77KB).

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park as fans travel to and from the precinct. Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. 

Consider catching public transport or parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park to avoid traffic delays. Match tickets include travel on public transport.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road.

The nearest Taxi Rank is on Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

Sydney Olympic Car Parks

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the game. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.

Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing the trip to Olympic Park by train. Match tickets include travel on public transport.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time. Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. 

Traffic delays are expected after the game as fans leave the precinct.  

Train Station Commuter Parking 

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then continuing your journey by train to Olympic Park. 

  • T1 Western Line: Seveen Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith. 
  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
