Important Travel Advice

With up to 50,000 attendees expect, attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.  

Public transport is the best way to get to the event with travel on public transport included in your ticket. 

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the stadium is a short walk from the station.  

Note due to trackwork buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, continuing to Penrith or Leppington. If you're travelling from the city you'll need to change for buses at Strathfied to continue your trip towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.  

Traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to and from the event. Ticketholders should consider leaving the car at home and catching public transport to avoid delays. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Ticket entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to Monster Jam at Accor Stadium on Saturday 12 October include travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations) 
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses 
  • Sydney Metro services 
  • Sydney and Newcastle Light Rail services 
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries 

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.  

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to Monster Jam at Accor Stadium include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. 

Change at Epping or Central to connect with train services towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Accor Stadium is Olympic Park.  

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.  

Note due to trackwork buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, continuing to Penrith or Leppington. If you're travelling from the city you'll need to change for buses at Strathfied to continue your trip towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

If you’re travelling from the Central Coast or Newcastle, the following additional trains will run to help you get there and home:  

  • Leaving Wyong at 3.30pm – stopping all stations to Berowra then Hornsby, Epping, Strathfield and Central.  
  • Leaving Central at 10.18pm – stopping at Stratfield, Epping, Hornsby, Berowra and all stations to Newcastle Interchange.  

Trackwork 

Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 12 October on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:  

  • T1 Western Line: Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Olympic Park. Change at Lidcombe for buses towards Strathfield. Trackwork buses do not leave from Olympic Park. Richmond trains run between Richmond and Leppington. Change at Glenfield for trains to the City via the Airport.
  • T2 Inner West and Leppington Line: Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park via Granville, and between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Change at Lidcombe for buses towards Strathfield. Trackwork buses do not leave from Olympic Park. You can also change at Glenfield for trains to the City via the Airport.
  • T3 Liverpool & Bankstown Line Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park via Regents Park. Change at Lidcombe for buses towards Strathfield. Trackwork buses do not leave from Olympic Park. From 9pm Saturday to 5am Sunday, and Sunday from 8pm to 10pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 4am to 11.30am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland. Trains run between Cronulla, Sutherland and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Extra trains run between Richmond and Leppington.
  • T7 Olympic Park Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, continuing to Penrith or Leppington. Buses replace all trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: T8 trains will not run via Sydenham. All trains run via the Airport, some to a changed timetable. Change at Wolli Creek for T4 trains via Sydenham. 
  • T9 Northern Line: Extra trains run between Rhodes and T1 North Shore Line stations.
  • Blue Mountains Line: Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change at Penrith for express buses to Strathfield. T1 Western Line trains run between Penrith, Blacktown and Olympic Park. Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run 30 minutes later than normal.
  • Central Coast and Newcastle Line: From 6am to 11am, at Hawkesbury River and Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2.
  • Hunter Line: From 9pm to 3am, buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Telarah.
  • South Coast Line: From 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong, and between Dapto and Sutherland. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, to a changed timetable.
  • Southern Highlands Line: Trains run between Southern Highlands Line stations and Campbelltown only. Change at Campbelltown for T8 trains to continue your journey. From 4.40am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Campbelltown and Central via the Airport.

Regular Route Buses

The following Sydney bus services run to Olympic Park: 

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington (this route no longer runs to or from Strathfield, if you are travelling from Strathfield catch a 526 buses instead).  
  • Route 526 runs between Burwood and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Accor Stadium is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf. 

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park as attendees travel to and from the precinct. Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. 

Consider catching public transport or parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park to avoid traffic delays. Event tickets include travel on public transport.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road. 

Road Closures

Sydney Olympic Park Authority may close some local roads to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during events. For road closure details, visit the Sydney Olympic Park interactive map for more details.

The nearest Taxi Rank is on Herb Elliott Avenue at Park Street. 

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event. 

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays. 

There is no designated rideshare pick up location in the precinct. Demand for rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed and consider catching a train or bus outside of the precinct instead to catch rideshare.

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event, available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.  

Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing the trip to Olympic Park by train. Event tickets include travel on public transport.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time. Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. 

Traffic delays are expected after the event as fans leave the precinct.  

Train Station Commuter Parking 

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then continuing your journey to Olympic Park by train. 

  • T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith. 
  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
