Important Travel Advice

Motor sport fans are encouraged to plan ahead and consider all the available travel options.

Allow extra travel time on the roads as traffic will be heavier than usual with families also heading home from school holidays. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Check the Supercars website for the latest event information and updates.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.

Change at Central to connect with trains to Bathurst.

For Metro service disruption information, check trackwork and travel alerts or plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

The closest station to the race track is Bathurst on the Blue Mountains Line. Regular NSW TrainLink services run from Sydney to Lithgow with coach connections to Bathurst.

The ‘Bathurst Bullet’ train service links Sydney with Bathurst, with services running twice daily. For further information see regional trains.

Road users should expect a lot of extra traffic on all major roads in and out of Bathurst as some 200,000 visitors descend on Mount Panorama across the weekend.

Delays are expected on major roads approaching Bathurst including the M4 Mwy, Great Western Hwy and Bells Line of Rd from Sydney, Mitchell Hwy from Orange, Mid-Western Hwy from Cowra and Castlereagh Hwy from Mudgee. The heaviest traffic is expected as crowds leave Bathurst, particularly on Monday and motorists should allow extra time. Traffic is expected to be heaviest between Hartley and Blackheath, and on the Mid Western Highway approaching Cowra.

Heavy traffic is also expected on major corridors across the state as school holidays come to an end with increased traffic on the M1 Pacific Motorway heading back to Sydney, the Princes Highway from the South Coast, and the Hume Motorway from the Southern Highlands.

Traffic controllers will be on-site on local roads to manage access to and from the Mount Panorama precinct.

Changed traffic conditions including reduced speed zones will be in place on the Great Western Hwy at Mount Victoria and the Mid Western Hwy at Cowra to manage traffic.

Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time over the weekend.

For the latest traffic information visit Live Traffic NSW or download a real-time traffic app.

An event taxi rank will be located on Lloyds Rd at Havannah St. For more details see the event site map

Book online with Bathurst Taxis. See the Bathurst Taxis booking page.

Priority parking is now sold out but there is plenty of general on-site parking is available, entry off Panorama Rd. See the Mount Panorama 1000 parking page for more details.
