BBL: Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Stars

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2024/2025 Sydney Sixers Big Bash League season home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground includes travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

• Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
• Sydney Metro services
• Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan bus services 
• Sydney Light Rail services
• Sydney Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to the 2024/2025 Sydney Sixers Big Bash League season home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park leaving from Chalmers St.

The closest stations to the SCG are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central, catch a light rail service to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street. Alternatively, consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 550KB) to find your way.

From Bondi Junction, catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the stadium.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Thursday 26 December on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

• T1 Western Line: Buses replace trains between Parramatta and Olympic Park. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Penrith or Richmond and Leppington, and between Olympic Park and the City. Change at Parramatta for buses towards Olympic Park, or at Glenfield for trains to the City via the Airport.  
• T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Parramatta and Olympic Park. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and Penrith or Richmond, and between Olympic Park and the City. Change at Glenfield for trains to the City via the Airport, or change at Parramatta for buses towards Olympic Park. T3 Line trains will not run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. Extra trains run between Liverpool and Bankstown only.   
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Trains will not run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. Trains run between Liverpool and Bankstown only. Buses replace T6 Line trains between Bankstown and Olympic Park. Trains run between Olympic Park and the City. Trackwork also affects T2 Leppington Line trains.  
• T5 Cumberland Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Penrith or Richmond and Leppington. 
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Olympic Park. Change at Olympic Park for trains towards the City. Extra trains run between Bankstown and Liverpool. T7 Olympic Park Line: Buses replace trains between Olympic Park, Lidcombe and Parramatta. Trains run between Olympic Park and the City. Buses also replace trains between Olympic Park and Bankstown.  
• Blue Mountains Line: Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change at Penrith for express buses to Olympic Park. T1 Western Line trains run between Penrith, Blacktown and Leppington. Buses replace trains between Parramatta and Olympic Park. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run 30 minutes later than normal.  
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Due to trackwork at Central, platforms 1-12, most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only, some to a changed timetable or stopping pattern. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey. Some late night and early morning trains run around the City Circle.  
• South Coast Line: Due to trackwork at Central, platforms 1-12, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Bondi Junction only. Some trains run around the City Circle.  
• Southern Highlands Line: Due to trackwork at Central, platforms 1-12, trains run between Southern Highlands Line stations and Campbelltown only. Change trains at Campbelltown to continue your journey. 

Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. A number of regular Sydney Buses service stops along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.   

Keep in mind that buses and light rail services will be busy. Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to minimise wait times for transport services. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 550KB) to find your way.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.   

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Additional light rail services will run before and after the game. Queues are expected, so be patient and allow plenty of extra time, particularly when leaving the stadium. Consider using alternative transport between Central Station and Moore Park, including walking if able to (approximately 25-minutes) or regular bus services, as light rail services will be very busy. If you have to drive, carpool with your group and allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavy as fans travel to and from the match. Fans are encouraged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid traffic delays. 

Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium from 3.35pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area. No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas maintained from Lang Road.  

To support the Moore Park Road pop up cycleway, there is no left-turn permitted from Lang Road onto Moore Park Road westbound. Motorists can use Cook Road for access onto Moore Park Road instead.

If you’re using rideshare to get to the game, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop off locations.  

After the match, there may be restrictions on rideshare pick up locations due to heavy traffic in the area. Select a pick-up location away from the stadium.

Moore Park Car Parks

Parking will be in high demand and will fill quickly. Carpool with your group and aim to arrive early to secure a parking space. 

• Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park: Open 24 hours. Flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road. 
• Showground Field (EP3) grass car park: Open from 3.05pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry on Driver Avenue via Lang Road. 
• Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School: Car Park open from around 3.05pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street. Use the Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to get to and from the SCG. 

Please note that Kippax Park (EP2) will not open for this match.

Special Event Clearways

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 3pm to 11pm on sections of Albion Street and Moore Park Road, and from 6am to 11pm on Cleveland Street and Fitzroy Street.  

From 6am to 11pm 

• Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
• Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side) 
• Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 

From 3pm to 11pm 

• Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides) 
• Moore Park Road between Flinders Street and Greens Road (northern side)  
• Moore Park Road between Cook Road and Poate Road (southern side)  

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
