BBL: Sydney Sixers v Perth Scorchers

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2024/2025 Sydney Sixers Big Bash League season home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground includes travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

• Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
• Sydney Metro services
• Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan bus services 
• Sydney Light Rail services
• Sydney Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to the 2024/2025 Sydney Sixers Big Bash League season home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park.

The closest stations to the SCG are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central, catch a light rail service to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street. Alternatively, consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 550KB) to find your way.

From Bondi Junction, catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the stadium.

Trackwork

Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 11 January on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner. 

• T1 Western Line: Buses replace trains between Penrith, Richmond and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Granville and the City, making extra stops at Ashfield and Burwood, then continue to T1 North Shore Line stations. Buses also run between some T1 Western Line stations and Tallawong. Frequent metro services run between Tallawong and the City. 
• T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Inner West trains will not run. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via Granville or Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Homebush and Central. Extra trains run between Liverpool and T1 North Shore Line stations via Granville. 
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Inner West trains will not run. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via Granville or Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Homebush and Central. Extra trains run between Liverpool and T1 North Shore Line stations via Granville. 
• T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Richmond and Granville. T2 Leppington Line trains run between Leppington and the City via Granville. Extra trains run between Liverpool and T1 North Shore Line stations via Granville. 
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. 
• Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Penrith and Granville. Trains from Penrith to Blue Mountains Line stations run up to 45 minutes later than the normal timetable. Bathurst trains continue to run between Bathurst and Central, to a changed timetable. If you are travelling to Lithgow to connect with NSW TrainLink Regional Coaches please call 132 232 to confirm departure times. Buses also replace T1 Western Line trains between Penrith, Richmond and Granville. From 9.15pm Saturday to 7.30am Sunday, buses replace trains between Springwood and Granville. 
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Due to trackwork at Central, platforms 1-12, most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only, some to a changed timetable or stopping pattern. Change at Epping for metro services to the City, or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey. Some late night and early morning trains run around the City Circle. From 6am to 11.10am, at Hawkesbury River and Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2. 
• South Coast Line: Due to trackwork at Central, platforms 1-12, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Bondi Junction only. From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Stanwell Park, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Stanwell Park, all trains leave from platform 2. 

Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. A number of regular Sydney Buses service stops along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.   

Keep in mind that buses and light rail services will be busy. Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to minimise wait times for transport services. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 550KB) to find your way.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.   

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Additional light rail services will run before and after the game. Queues are expected, so be patient and allow plenty of extra time, particularly when leaving the stadium. Consider using alternative transport between Central Station and Moore Park, including walking if able to (approximately 25-minutes) or regular bus services, as light rail services will be very busy. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 or L3 Line service to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings. Read the news story for more information.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual as fans travel to the match. Delays are also expected leaving the precinct as A-League fans travel to Allianz Stadium for a 7.35pm kick-off. Fans are encouraged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid traffic delays. 

Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium from 2.15pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area. No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP2 Kippax car park will be maintained via Moore Park Road and access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas maintained from Lang Road.

To support the Moore Park Road pop up cycleway, there is no left-turn permitted from Lang Road onto Moore Park Road westbound. Motorists can use Cook Road for access onto Moore Park Road instead.

The closest taxi rank is located on Errol Flynn Boulevard (near the Hordern Pavilion).  

If you’re using rideshare to get to the game, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop off locations.  

After the match, there may be restrictions on rideshare pick up locations due to heavy traffic in the area. Select a pick-up location away from the stadium.

Moore Park Car Parks

Parking will be in high demand and will fill quickly. Carpool with your group and aim to arrive early to secure a parking space. 

• Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park: Open 24 hours. Flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road. 
• Kippax Park (EP2) grass car park (limited capacity due to upgrade works) Open from 1:45pm. Entry via the northern end of Driver Ave from Moore Park Road. 
• Showground Field (EP3) grass car park: Open from 1.45pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry on Driver Avenue via Lang Road. 
• Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School: Car Park open from around 1.45pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street. Use the Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to get to and from the SCG.

Special Event Clearways

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 1pm to 10pm on sections of Albion Street, Fitzroy Street and Moore Park Road, and from 6am to 10pm on Cleveland Street.  

From 6am to 10pm 

• Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
• Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side) 

From 1pm to 10pm 

• Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides) 
• Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 
• Moore Park Road between Cook Road and Poate Road (southern side)   

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
