Important travel advice
With up to 3,000 cyclists expected to take part in 27km, 57km, 80km and 104km ride events, participants are encouraged to plan ahead and consider all of the available travel options ahead of time. Events will start and end at Karuah Oval in Turramurra, commencing from 6.30am.
- Public transport is the best way to get to the start line. Keep in mind there are restrictions on travelling with bikes on some public transport services. Visit travelling with bikes for more details.
- The closest station to the start line is Turramurra on the T1 North Shore Line. Trains run regularly on weekends and the start line on Karuah Road is a short ride away. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner or free Opal Travel app.
- You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
If you want to drive:
- Road closures, lane closures, special event clearways and reduced speed limits will be in place along the course from 5am for the safety of participants. Traffic conditions will return to normal by 1.30pm.
- Parking is available near the start and finish line in local streets and in nearby car parks.
- Traffic may be heavier than usual in the area while roads and lanes are closed, and speed reductions are in place for the event.

Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.
Change at Chatswood for a T1 North Shore Line train to Turramurra.

Trackwork
Planned trackwork is taking place on Sunday 30 March on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 Metro Line: Buses replace metro and train services between Central and Sydenham. Metro services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or trains towards Bondi Junction. Change at Central for buses towards Sydenham, or T4 Illawarra and South Coast Line stations.
- T1 Western Line: From 6.20am to 10.30am, some trains make an extra stop at Burwood.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 6.20am to 10.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Leppington trains make extra stops at Homebush and Croydon. Some T1 trains make an extra stop at Burwood, some T9 trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.20am to 10.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run between Liverpool and Lidcombe only. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs Line: Buses replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Central. Some buses start and end at Redfern. Trains run between Central and Bondi Junction, to a changed timetable. If travelling to the Airport change at Central, not Wolli Creek.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.20am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable, every 30 minutes.
- T8 Airport & South Line: T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central. Trains run to the normal timetable between Macarthur, Revesby and the City via the Airport. Trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for trains towards Bondi Junction, or buses to Illawarra and South Coast Line stations.
- T9 Northern Line: From 6.20am to 10.30am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
- South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Central. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable. If travelling to the Airport change at Central for a train, not Wolli Creek.

Travel on ferries with bikes is not recommended. Crews can refuse to allow a bicycle on board if there is a safety concern or not enough room for it to be safely stowed, so have an alternative transport option in mind. Visit travelling with bikes for more details.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line
L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Change at Central for a T1 North Shore Line train to Turramurra.
L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Change at Central for a T1 North Shore Line train to Turramurra.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Strathfield. From Strathfield, catch a train to Hornsby and change to a train to Turramurra.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Road Closures
Road and lane closures will be in between 5am and 3pm along the event route for cyclist safety.
- Turramurra
- From 5am until 3pm, sections of Karuah Road and Turramurra Avenue will be closed.
- From 6.45am until 1.30pm, the right turn lane on Burns Road into Ellalong Road will be closed.
- From 8am until 1.45pm, the right turn lane on Bobbin Head Road into Burns Road will be closed.
- Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park
- From 6.15am to 9.15am, a section of Bobbin Head Road will be closed.
- From 7.30am until 12.30pm, a section of General San Martin Drive will be closed.
- St Ives
- From 6.45am until 1.30pm, a section of Warrimoo Avenue will be closed.
- From 6.30am until 2.30pm, westbbound lane 1 of Mona Vale Road will be closed approaching Richmond Avenue.
- From 8am until 1.30pm, the right turn lane on Mona Vale Road into Woodbury Road will be closed.
- From 8.30am until 1.30pm a section of Woodbury Road will be closed.
- Mt Colah
- From 6.15am until 8.45am, north and southbound lane 1 of the Pacific Highway will be closed approaching Belmont Parade.
- Terrey Hills
- From 8am until 1.30pm, westbound lane 1 of Mona Vale Road will be closed approaching Forest Way. The left turn lane into Forrect Way remains open but traffic will be held when cyclists are passing through.
Speed limit reductions will be in place between 6am and 2pm along sections of Mona Vale Road, West Head Road, Bobbin Head Road, McCarr's Creek Road and the Pacific Highway.

Parking
Parking is available nearby in car parks at Turramurra Train Station and council parking lots. Limited street parking is also available near the start and finish line. Visit Ku-Ring-Gai Council for more information.
Special Event Clearways
A special event clearway will be in place from 7am until 1.30pm in St Ives on the eastern side of Mona Vale Road between 425 Mona Vale Road and Kitchener Street.
Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
