Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. 

The best way to get to Sharks Stadium is by public transport. Tickets include travel on trains. 

Trains run regularly to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line, which is within walking distance of the Stadium. Station shuttle buses will also run to the stadium from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before and after the game. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to the match in the busy evening peak. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Match Ticket Entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2025 Cronulla Sharks season home games at Sharks Stadium include travel on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services:  

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations. 

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day. 

For travel on buses, ferries, metro and light rail services you will need to use an Opal card or contactless payment method, see below for more information.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.  

Change at Martin Place, Central or Sydenham for a T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line service to Woolooware. 

Please note that there is trackwork on the M1 Metro line on Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 March.  

  • M1 Metro Line: Metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham.

The closest station to PointsBet Stadium (Shark Park) is Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. From the station the stadium is a short 15-minute walk. 

Shuttle buses will also run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations before the game to get you to PoinstBet Stadium. Shuttle buses departing Woolooware Train Station will leave from the Kingsway side of the Station. After the game, return shuttle buses will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.

Trackwork

Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 22 March on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:  

  • M1 Metro Line: Metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via the Airport, and between Fairfield and the City via Granville. Buses also replace T3 trains between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Regents Park. From 9.40pm Saturday to 4am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Leppington and East Hills. Trains run between East Hills and the City, to a changed timetable.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Liverpool, Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, some to a changed timetable. Inner West trains run between Homebush and the City. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Buses also replace trains between Macarthur, Liverpool and Fairfield.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Some trains start or end at Hurstville or Sutherland, and you may need to change trains. Trains may leave from different platforms, please check indicator screens before boarding.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park or the City, and between Fairfield and the City via Granville. You may need to change services to continue your journey. Trains also run between Leppington and the City via the Airport. Early morning and late-night trains run between Richmond and Fairfield. From 9.40pm Saturday to 4am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Leppington and East Hills.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool, Cabramatta and Lidcombe.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington or Revesby and the City via the Airport. From 9.40pm Saturday to 4am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Leppington and East Hills. Trains run between East Hills and the City via the Airport, to a changed timetable.
  • Blue Mountains Line:  Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run up to 30 minutes later than the normal timetable. Some late night or early morning trains start or end at North Sydney. Bathurst trains run to the normal timetable between Bathurst and Central. 
  • Central Coast Line: Most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey. Some late night or early morning trains start or end at North Sydney.
  • South Coast Line: Fr om 5am to 5pm, buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong. Buses towards Wollongong may leave up to 15 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable. From 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains make extra stops between Sutherland and Hurstville. 
  • Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Glenfield. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 Airport & South Line trains run to a changed timetable between Glenfield and the City. From 9.40pm Saturday to 4am Sunday, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and East Hills. T8 Airport & South Line trains run to a changed timetable between East Hills and the City.

Regular Route Buses

Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of the stadium including routes 985, 969, 971 and 978. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip by bus.

Station Shuttle Buses

Shuttle buses will run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations from before the game to get you to PoinstBet Stadium. Shuttle buses are free for match ticketholders and will commence service when gates open.

Return services will run for around an hour after full time and will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive, near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.

Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay and change for a train to Central to connect with T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains to Woolooware.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street).

From Central, change for a train to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and catch a train service from Parramatta Station to Redfern or Central where you can connect with a T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line train service to Woolooware.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings. Read the news story for more information.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to the match. Travel with your group, use nearby local parking and allow extra travel time.

For passenger drop-offs, cars can ‘kiss and drop’ in the bus bay out the front of the Stadium. However, please note that Captain Cook Drive will be closed in the immediate vicinity of the Stadium from about 10 minutes prior to kick-off and for around 30 minutes after full time.

For post-match passenger pick-ups, use Gannons Road or Woolooware Road.

Road Closures

Road closures will be in place on Captain Cook Drive from approximately 10 minutes before kick-off and 30 minutes after full time to for the safety of pedestrians. Allow extra travel time if you are driving in the area.

Supporters travelling by taxi or rideshare services may be dropped off in the bus bay located directly in front of PointsBet Stadium, on Captain Cook Drive. Gannons Road and Woolooware Road are recommended post-game pick-up points.
