Sydney light rail service times and frequency

L1 Dulwich Hill light rail services run between Central Station and Dulwich Hill with stops at popular CBD and Inner West destinations.

The L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick and Circular Quay and Kingsford. Both lines travel via George Street, Central Station and along Devonshire Street in Surry Hills up to Moore Park.

Frequency of service is approximate depending on the volume of customers and traffic conditions in the CBD.

Light rail services between Central and Dulwich Hill run from:

  • Central to Dulwich Hill: 6am to 11pm Saturday to Thursday, extending to midnight on Friday.
  • Dulwich Hill to Central: 5.50am to 11.38pm Saturday to Thursday and 5.50am to 12.38am on Fridays.

The standard frequencies are:

  • every 8 to 10 minutes during weekday peak hours (7am to 10am and 3pm to 7pm)
  • every 15 minutes at other times on weekdays
  • every 10 to 15 minutes on weekends and public holidays (with a reduced service before 9am)

Light rail services run between the The Star and Central 24 hours a day.

Overnight service frequency is every 30 minutes from 11pm to 6am on Saturday to Thursday and midnight to 6am on Fridays.

The L2 light rail does not operate per a set timetable, instead it offers turn up and go services, 7 days a week starting at 5am and finishing at 1am the following morning.

From 7am to 7pm weekdays, there will be a service every 4-8 minutes between Circular Quay and Central, and every 8-12 minutes between Central and Randwick.

For the first six months of operation on the L2 Randwick Line there will be a period during which service patterns and performance will be bedded in.

Estimated service arrival times will be available on electronic information boards at stop platforms.

The L3 light rail does not operate per a set timetable, instead it offers turn up and go services, 7 days a week starting at 5am and finishing at 1am the following morning.

From 7am to 7pm weekdays, there will be a service every 4-8 minutes between Circular Quay and Central, and every 8-12 minutes between Central and Kingsford.

Newcastle light rail service times and frequency

Light rail services in Newcastle run between Newcastle Interchange at Wickham through to Newcastle Beach with stops at popular CBD destinations from 5am to 1am the next day, 7 day a week.
