Important Travel Advice
Bay to Bay participants and spectators are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.
The Marathon will start behind Industree Group Stadium, Gosford at 6:30am while the 2km event will start at Industree Group Stadium at 7:00am. The 5km event will start at Adcock Park, West Gosford at 10:50am. Both the 12km event and Half Marathon will start at The Boulevard, Woy Woy at 7.10am and 8.20am respectively. All events will finish inside Industree Group Stadium, Gosford.
Trains run regularly to Gosford and Woy Woy Stations on the Central Coast and Newcastle Line. Participants receive free travel on trains, metro and buses to and from the event. Simply show your race bib to transport staff when boarding services.
If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Traffic may be heavier than usual and roads in the area will close to allow racegoers to complete their event. Be patient, allow extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Ticketing Entitlements
Bay to Bay 2025 Running Festival participants receive travel to and from the event valid on Sunday 15 June. Just show your race bib to Transport staff when boarding any of the following services:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations) * does not include International and Domestic Airport station access fee.
- Sydney Metro services
- Sydney Metropolitan and Outer-Metropolitan Buses.
- Transport Park&Ride car park
Remember to keep your race bib safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event travel entitlement is valid until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
For travel on light rail services or ferries you will need to use an Opal or contactless payment method.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.
Change at Chatswood or Epping to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford and Woy Woy.

The closest station to the 2km and 5km starting line is Gosford station.
The closest station to the 12km and half marathon starting line is Woy Woy station.

Trackwork
Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Sunday 15 June on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:
- M1 Metro Line: Extra metro services run between Tallawong and Sydenham due to trackwork on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. Buses replace T4 trains between Sydenham, Central and Bondi Junction but do not leave from Martin Place. Change at Gadigal for express buses from Town Hall to Bondi Junction. Change at Central for trains to South Coast Line stations, or buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff. Change at Sydenham for trains to T4 Illawarra Line stations.
- City Circle: Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall. · Some trains may start or end at Central, run to a changed timetable or leave from different platforms. · You may need to change trains to continue your journey. · The light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central.
- T1 Western Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Richmond trains run between Richmond and Liverpool. Change at Parramatta for trains towards the City.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via Granville or Regents Park. Inner West trains run between Olympic Park, Homebush and the City, some to a changed timetable. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City Regents Park. Inner West trains run between Olympic Park, Homebush and the City, some to a changed timetable. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Trains may start or end at Hurstville or Sutherland, and you may need to change trains. Check indicator screens before boarding as trains may leave from different platforms. Buses replace trains between Sydenham, Central and Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall or Cronulla and Sydenham only. South Coast Line trains run between Wollongong and Central, platforms 1-12. Change at Sydenham for metro services to Central, Martin Place or Gadigal (Town Hall), or buses to St Peters, Erskineville or Redfern. Change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or metro services to Martin Place. Change at Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. From 1pm to 4pm, trains will not stop at Wolli Creek but make an extra stop at Arncliffe. Buses run between Sydenham, Wolli Creek and Arncliffe. Change at Arncliffe or Sydenham for a bus to Wolli Creek or change at Central for a T8 Airport train if you have luggage or accessibility needs.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Early morning and late-night trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Liverpool only. Change trains at Liverpool to continue your journey.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe.
- T7 Olympic Park Line: Trains do not run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe. Trains run between Olympic Park, Strathfield and the City. Change at Strathfield, not Lidcombe, for trains to Olympic Park.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central. Metro services run between Sydenham and the City. T8 trains run to a changed timetable via the Airport, stopping at all stations between Macarthur and Central only. From 1pm to 4pm, trackwork at Wolli Creek may affect how you travel to T4 or South Coast Line stations. T4 and South Coast Line trains will not stop at Wolli Creek. Buses run between Sydenham, Wolli Creek and Arncliffe. Change at Central if you have luggage or accessibility needs.
- Blue Mountains Line: From 9.30am to 5pm, buses replace trains between Lithgow and Katoomba. · Trains run to a changed timetable between Katoomba and Central.
- Hunter Line: From 8.50pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Telarah and Newcastle Interchange.
- South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Central, some to a changed timetable. Buses do not run to the train timetable. If connecting with trains at Wollongong you may need to catch an earlier bus to ensure you meet your train connection. Buses also replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trains run between Wollongong and Central, platforms 1-12, to a changed timetable. From 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains make extra stops between Sutherland and Hurstville. From 1pm to 4pm, trains will not stop at Wolli Creek, but will make extra stops at Arncliffe and Sydenham. Buses run between Sydenham, Wolli Creek and Arncliffe. Change at Arncliffe or Sydenham for a bus to Wolli Creek or change at Central for a T8 Airport train if you have luggage or accessibility needs.

Roads in the area will close for the event and buses will divert while the road closures are in place.
During the event, there will be no changes to bus routes 55 and 64.
Bus routes 21, 22 & 23 from Gosford station to Central Coast Highway westbound will be diverted via Mann Street, Donnison Street, Baker Street, Georgiana Terrace and Dane Drive.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Change at Central to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford and Woy Woy.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train from Parramatta Station.
Newcastle Light Rail
Newcastle Light Rail services run from 5am to 1am daily between Newcastle Interchange in Wickham and Pacific Park in Newcastle East. With six convenient stops, it’s easy to get around Newcastle’s city centre and connect with train, bus and ferry services.

Road Closures
Motorists travelling between Gosford and Woy Woy will be diverted via Woy Woy Road.
Key roads in the area will be closed for the event including:
- The Boulevarde, Woy Woy between Brisbane Water Drive and Brick Wharf Road from 5am Saturday 14 June to 9.20am, Sunday 15 June.
- Dane Drive, Gosford will be closed from approximately 6.50am to 1pm.
- The Riou Street/Pacific Highway on-ramp to the Central Coast Highway will be closed from 7.30am to 11.40am.
- Rolling closure of Brisbane Water Drive from Brick Wharf Road to Glenrock Parade from 6.55am to 8.10am.
- Alfred Higgs Place, Gosford between the roundabout on Central Coast Highway to the carpark underneath Brian McGowan Bridge from 5am to 1pm.
Motorists should avoid the area during the event but if travel is necessary, allow extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers on site.

Racegoers and spectators driving to the event should allow plenty of extra travel as parking is expected to be in high demand.
Parking is available at Gosford and Woy Woy Stations.
- For the half marathon and 12km event, park at Gosford Station and take the train to the starting line at Woy Woy. Gosford Station is a short walk from the finish line at Industree Group Stadium.
- For the 5km event, street parking is available near Industree Group Stadium which is a short 1km walk from the starting line at Adcock Park. Limited parking will also be available within Adcock Park.
- For the 2km kids event, local street parking is available around Industree Group Stadium. Parking is also available at Gosford Station, which is a short walk from the stadium.
