Important Travel Advice

With more than 30,000 AFL fans expected in the precinct, ticketholders are urged to consider catching public transport. 

  • Match tickets include travel on all modes of public transport, simply show your ticket to transport staff when boarding services
  • Trains and Metro services run regularly to the City where you can connect with frequent light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park light rail stop is located a short walk across from the SCG. Plenty of regular route buses also make stops along Anzac Parade and Oxford Street nearby. 
  • Please note that planned trackwork on the rail network may affect how you travel to and from the match. You may need to change transport modes to complete your journey. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time.   
    • Trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. Use metro, regular buses or light rail. Extra L2 and L3 light rail services will run. 
    • If you're travelling to the west after the game, buses replace trains between Central and Strathfield from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday. Catch light rail from Moore Park to Central to connect with replacement buses. 
  • Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to avoid the queues for transport services before and after the match. See the Moore Park transport and walking route map to find your way. 
  • If you have to drive, expect long traffic delays on roads approaching Moore Park.
  • Parking will be in high demand so if you must drive, carpool with your group and plan to arrive early. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.   
  • Parking is available near the SCG at the Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park, grass car parks on Driver Avenue, and Sydney Boys & Girls High School car park off Cleveland Street. A flat rate event parking fee will apply.

Match ticket entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2025 Sydney Swans season home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground include travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket or members card to transport staff when boarding:

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan bus services 
  • Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to the 2025 Sydney Swans season home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.

The closest stations to the SCG are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central, catch a light rail service to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street. Alternatively, consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire St/Foveaux St and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway. See the Moore Park transport and walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

From Bondi Junction, catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the stadium.

  • Trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. Use metro, regular buses or light rail. Extra L2 and L3 light rail services will run. 
  • If you're travelling to the west after the game, buses replace trains between Central and Strathfield from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday. Catch light rail from Moore Park to Central to connect with replacement buses. 

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 19 July on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

  • M1 Metro Line: Train trackwork on the City Circle and T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel. Extra metro services run between Tallawong, the City and Sydenham. 
  • City Circle: Trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel around the City use the metro, T4 trains, light rail or local bus services. T4 trains continue to run between Central and Bondi Junction. Light rail services run between Central and Circular Quay. Trackwork also affects trains on other lines. 
  • T1 North Shore Line: Trains run between Berowra and Wynyard only, some to a changed timetable. Trains do not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle.  Use metro services between Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross and the City, or change at Wynyard for the light rail. Trackwork also affects trains on other lines. 
  • T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run between Richmond and Liverpool. Change at Parramatta for trains towards the City. From 9.30pm Friday to 6am Saturday and from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Strathfield, making extra stops at Flemington and Homebush. From 6am to 5.30pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-14 only, and make an extra stop at Burwood.  
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 9.30pm Friday to 6am Saturday and from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park via Granville, or between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. T1 trains run between Lidcombe and Strathfield. T9 trains run between Strathfield and Ashfield. From 6am to 5.30pm, buses replace Inner West Line trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Central, platforms 1-14, via Granville or Regents Park, making an extra stop at Homebush, then stopping at Strathfield, Burwood, Redfern and Central only. T9 trains run between Strathfield and Ashfield, making extra stops at Burwood and Croydon. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel.   • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 9.30pm Friday to 6am Saturday and from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington or Liverpool and Lidcombe only. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. T1 trains run between Lidcombe and Strathfield. T9 trains run between Strathfield and Ashfield. From 6am to 5.30pm, buses replace Inner West Line trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Central, platforms 1-14, via Regents Park, making an extra stop at Homebush, then stopping at Strathfield, Burwood, Redfern and Central only. T9 trains run between Strathfield and Ashfield, making extra stops at Burwood and Croydon. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for metro, light rail or local bus services to continue your journey. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. From 4am to 11.30am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Sutherland and Bondi Junction. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable. Extra trains run between Richmond and Liverpool. 
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.  
  • T8 Airport Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Revesby trains run between Revesby and Central only, via the Airport. Most Macarthur trains run between Macarthur and Sydenham only.  Change at Revesby for trains to Airport stations or change at Sydenham for T4 trains towards Bondi Junction, or metro services to the City.  Early morning and late-night trains run between Macarthur and Central via the Airport. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. T4 trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, and make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for metro, light rail or local bus services to continue your journey. 
  • T9 Northern Line: From 9.50pm Friday to 6am Saturday and from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, trains run between Hornsby and Ashfield only. Buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. From 6am to 5.30pm, trains run between Hornsby and Ashfield only. Express trains run between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express buses or trains to Central. Remain on the train if travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for metro, light rail or local bus services to continue your journey. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: From 9.50pm Friday to 6am Saturday and from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey. Buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. From 6am to 5.30pm, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Central to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. On Saturday, the 5.52pm Central to Bathurst service will leave Central at 5.38pm, 14 minutes earlier than the normal timetable. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for metro, light rail or local bus services to continue your journey. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 9.50pm Friday to 6am Saturday and from 5.30pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express buses to Central. From 6am to 5.30pm, trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Central to a changed timetable. From 7am to 10.30am, trains towards Hornsby will not stop at Cowan. Buses run from Hawkesbury River to Cowan, and from Cowan to Berowra, in that direction only. Change at Hawkesbury River for a bus to Cowan. From Cowan, catch a bus to Berowra then change for a train to continue your journey. Trains towards Gosford continue to stop at Cowan. 
  • South Coast Line: From 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto. T4 trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction.

A number of regular route bus services stops along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.   

Keep in mind that buses and light rail services will be busy. Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to minimise wait times for transport services. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.   

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground.

  • Trains do not run between Central and Wynyard, or on the City Circle. Use light rail services to Wynyard and Circular Quay.  
  • For travel to T1 North Shore Line stations change at Wynyard or use metro services. 
  • From 7am to 7pm, extra L2 and L3 light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford. 

Additional light rail services will run before and after the game. Queues are expected, so be patient and allow plenty of extra time, particularly when leaving the stadium. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 or L3 Line service to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavy as fans travel to the match. Fans are encouraged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid traffic delays. 

Changed traffic conditions: 

  • Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium from 12:15pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area.  
  • No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP2 Kippax car park will be maintained via Moore Park Road and access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas maintained from Lang Road.

The closest taxi rank is located on Errol Flynn Boulevard (near the Hordern Pavilion).  

If you’re using rideshare to get to the game, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop off locations.  

After the match, there may be restrictions on rideshare pick up locations due to heavy traffic in the area. Select a pick-up location away from the stadium.

Moore Park Car Parks

Parking will be in high demand and will fill quickly. Carpool with your group and aim to arrive early to secure a parking space. 

  • Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park: Open 24 hours. Flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road. 
  • Kippax Park (EP2) grass car park (limited capacity due to upgrade works): Open from 1:15pm. Entry via the northern end of Driver Ave from Moore Park Road. 
  • Showground Field (EP3) grass car park: Open from 1:15pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry on Driver Avenue via Lang Road. 
  • Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School: Car Park open from around 1:15pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street. Use the Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to get to and from the SCG. 
  • Moore Park Golf Course: flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street.

Special Event Clearways

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 3pm to midnight on sections of Albion Street, Fitzroy Street, Lang Road and Moore Park Road, and from 6am to midnight on Cleveland Street.  

From 6am to 9pm

  • Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
  • Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side) 

From 1pm to 8pm

  • Moore Park Road between Cook Road and Poate Road (southern side) 

From 1pm to 9pm

  • Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides) 
  • Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 
  • Lang Road between Anzac Parade and Errol Flynn Boulevard (northern side) 
  • Moore Park Road between Flinders Street and Greens Road (northern side) 

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
