Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.

• Buses replace Central Coast & Newcastle Line services between Newcastle Interchange and Hornsby. You will need to catch a replacement bus to complete your journey.  
• Buses replace T9 Northern Line trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.  

Change at Central for a train to Hornsby and connect with replacement bus services to Broadmeadow. Alternatively, catch a T9 Line replacement bus from Epping to Hornsby, then change to a Central Coast & Newcastle Line replacement bus to Broadmeadow.

The closest station to McDonald Jones Stadium is Broadmeadow on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line however trackwork is taking place.

From the station, the stadium is approximately a 15 to 20-minute walk away (1.5km). 

Trackwork

Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 24 August on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:  

• M1 Metro Line: Metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. 
• T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby. Trains run between Hornsby and the City, some to a changed timetable. Buses also replace T9 Northern and Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains. 
• T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Penrith trains make extra stops at all stations between Lidcombe and Ashfield. Richmond trains run between Richmond and Liverpool. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City. 
• T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Inner West trains will not run. T1 Western and T2 Leppington trains make extra stops. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and T1 North Shore Line stations via Granville or Regents Park and stop at all stations between Ashfield and Central. T1 Western Line trains make extra stops at all stations between Lidcombe and Ashfield. You will need to change trains if travelling to Museum, St James or Circular Quay.  
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Inner West trains will not run. T1 Western and T2 Leppington trains make extra stops. Trains run between Leppington and T1 North Shore Line stations via Regents Park, and stop at all stations between Ashfield and Central. T1 Western Line trains make extra stops at all stations between Lidcombe and Ashfield. You will need to change trains if travelling to Museum, St James or Circular Quay. 
• T5 Cumberland Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable. Extra trains run between Liverpool and Richmond. From 5.30am to 9.40am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, and between Richmond or Schofields and Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. From 9.40am to 11.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Granville, and between Schofields and Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey. 
• T8 Airport & South Line: From 8.40am to 3pm, buses replace the all-stations trains between Wolli Creek and Revesby. Express trains continue to run but will not stop at stations between Padstow and Turrella. 
• T9 Northern Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Strathfield and the City. Frequent metro services run between Epping and the City. 
• Blue Mountains Line: Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. 
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Hornsby. T1 North Shore Line trains run between Hornsby and the City, some to a changed timetable. Buses also replace trains on the T9 Northern Line. 
• Hunter Line: Buses replace trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange. Limited express buses also run between some Hunter Line stations and Hornsby. Buses also replace trains on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. 
• South Coast Line: From 2.30am to 9.50am, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. The 02:39 Kiama to Bondi Junction service will run up to 14 minutes earlier than the normal timetable from Kiama to Coniston, then run to the normal timetable from Wollongong to Bondi Junction.

Stadium shuttle buses 

Catch one of the five stadium shuttle services to get to Knights games at McDonald Jones Stadium, free for match ticketholders.   

Services will run at regular intervals from selected bus stops from approx. two hours prior to kick-off. Return services will run for around half an hour after full time.   

Route details  

• Stadium Shuttle 1 – Newcastle CBD: Stops at Queens Wharf, King Street at Bolton Street, Civic Park, Marketown, and Tudor Street at Beaumont Street.  
• Stadium Shuttle 2 – Charlestown/Belmont: Stops at Charlestown Square and Westfield Kotara. Two services will start from Belmont on the Pacific Highway at Macquarie Street, also stopping on Pacific Highway at Groves Road.  
• Stadium Shuttle 3 – Glendale: Stops at Stockland Glendale, Cardiff Station, and Lookout Road at McCaffrey Drive.  
• Stadium Shuttle 4 – Wallsend: Stops at Wallsend Village, Newcastle Road at Blue Gum Road, and Newcastle Road at Dent Street.  
• Stadium Shuttle 5 – Mayfield: Stops at Wests Mayfield, Mayfield shops, Waratah Station, and Waratah Village

Regular route buses 

The closest bus stops to McDonald Jones Stadium are on Turton Road and Lambton Road. Regular routes 13, 23, 25, 26 and 27 run towards the stadium. Check Newcastle Transport for more bus network information.

Ferries run between Stockton and Queens Wharf approximately every 20 minutes.   

At Queens Wharf, change for a light rail service to Newcastle Interchange then connect with trains to Broadmeadow. Alternatively, from King Street near Perkins Street, you can catch a route 13 bus to Lambton Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.

Newcastle Light Rail services run from 5am to 1am daily between Newcastle Interchange in Wickham and Pacific Park in Newcastle East. With six convenient stops, it’s easy to get around Newcastle’s city centre and connect with train, bus and ferry services.

Catch a light rail service to Newcastle Interchange and change for a train to Broadmeadow where the stadium is within short walking distance.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to and from the match. Carpool with your group and allow extra travel time on roads including Turton Road and Griffiths Road.  

For passenger drop-off, use the allocated 10-minute loading zone in the McDonald Jones Stadium car park. Entry is via the driveway off Turton Road.

McDonald Jones Stadium's taxi and rideshare pick-up/drop-off point is located at Young Road, Broadmeadow.

Pre-paid parking on game days and major events is available only for vehicles with a pre-paid parking ticket. Pre-paid parking tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster online, by phone or by visiting Ticketmaster box office at McDonald Jones Stadium. Visit Ticketmaster – McDonald Jones Stadium.  

Disabled parking areas have been designated in close proximity to each of McDonald Jones Stadiums accessible entries. To purchase a Mobility parking please phone Ticketmaster on 136 100 or visit the Ticketmaster box office at McDonald Jones Stadium.   

Drop-Off Zone: motorists may drop off patrons in the stadium's car park in the allocated 10-minute loading zone, accessible via the north driveway (near the Knights supporter store) off Turton Road.
